A sampling of the issues that I am most interested in are: trauma, attachment/bonding, divorce, self-esteem, adjustment issues, stress, bullying, depression, anxiety, family issues, and grief/ loss.
I enjoy using my knowledge of human development and family systems to serve my clients' unique needs. In addition, my experience with children, adults and families helps to cultivate an environment of growth for my clients. I give unconditional regard to all of my clients, and walk with them on their individual journeys. Personal growth can sometimes be uncomfortable, but I assure you, you do not have to experience it alone. My hope is that each person I work with will gain insight from guided self-exploration and goal setting.

The hardest step is the first step. Seeking treatment for your mental health requires tremendous courage and vulnerability. People of all ages suffer from the effects of mental health stigmas, which can harm their willingness to seek treatment. By partnering with a mental health professional, individuals can achieve a greater state of well-being to thrive, rather than simply survive.

Are you struggling with anxiety and depression due to life transitions such as divorce, infertility, the death of a loved one, college stress or the loss of a dream, and seeking Christian counseling? Have you experienced trauma in your life and you feel stuck under the weight of worry and fear? Are “shoulds” and “musts” leaving you paralyzed with thoughts of “I’m not good enough” and “I don’t matter”? Often people wait to reach out until they feel depleted, resentful, and ashamed. I believe we get stuck due to our thinking, and the way we get unstuck is to change our thinking! But is it possible? Yes! It doesn't have to be this way

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.
When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.
Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.
What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
