There are many reasons and circumstances that move us toward seeking out therapy, but taking that first step toward healing, for most clients, can be uncertain and often anxiety provoking. From the first meeting, I strive to create a genuinely warm and collaborative space to begin building a therapeutic relationship based on feelings of safety and a sense of trust. I feel it is a unique privilege, as a therapist, to assist those struggling with emotional, physical and/or spiritual difficulties and am committed to providing individualized treatment to each client.

Hi my name is Marchella Carter a licensed mental health counselor in Florida with over 10 yrs of experience in the behavioral health field. I have experience treating co-occuring disorders, mood disorders, anger, anxiety, panic, adjustment disorder, unresolved family issues and trauma. Serving Florida counties outside of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton.

I am currently taking new individuals and couples and this can be your first step to healthy! The ability to create meaningful relationships in our lives is one of the most important skills anyone can possess, yet so often, we find ourselves struggling to connect deeply because of our past or present experiences. It brings me joy every time I see an individual or couple work through those issues to connect, heal, and move forward in a more satisfying relationship.

I have been blessed with the heart for serving others. For the past 15 years, I have worked in various roles with children of all ages. While working with children at a youth residential shelter, I discovered the extensive amount of children that were involved in the juvenile justice system in our area, as well as the amount of children needing mental health services. For the last 8 years, I have worked as a Registered Behavior Therapist providing applied behavior analysis (ABA therapy) to children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder.

Like war, trauma from adult and childhood abuse, hurt from church and family have left many of us just limping through life. Just because you are use to the pain, it doesn't mean you or your love ones should continue to live with the pain. I am honest and I like to see results. I also like to work with clients that are ready to be honest and put in the work to see their desired results. I primarily see adult women with trauma and couples in need of support! My office has clinicians that see individuals of all ages! I am also a Qualified Supervisor that is passionate about supporting Registered Interns on their licensing journey!

I enjoy working with women, teens, and first responders in the areas of anxiety, stress, self-esteem, depression, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, trauma, and life transitions. It is within the context of our relationship with self and others that we find or lose balance. It can be hard communicating our feelings and needs with others in an effective way. I offer a whole person, mind-body approach to treatment within the context of a safe and trustworthy therapeutic relationship.
