I use an integrated approach to provide individual counseling and play therapy services to adults and children. I am interested in aiding clients who deal with difficulties surrounding divorce, daily stressors, relationship issues, anxiety and depression. I intend to focus on working with children and families attempting to readjust to the rules and roles of the new family structure that can surface. I will provide a safe environment where clients can work collaboratively with me to identify concerns and process them. I will help clients use this new awareness to determine effective coping and communication skills.

Hello and welcome! I'm Heather Vinti, licensed therapist with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and PhD in Public Health. In addition to my years of research in sexual health, I have received advanced training specifically in Sexual Health and Sex Therapy, as well as Gottman Method Couples Therapy. All of this put together allows me to take a systemic view and connection-based approach to working with clients. I provide a non-judgmental, accepting, validating space for clients to be themselves and explore the ways in which they want to grow and heal.

I enjoy working with people who are facing challenges with anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and anger issues. I thrive in finding core issues and working on increasing each clients internal strengths to help them overcome their challenges. Whitney is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes the foundation of all positive change is curiosity. Whitney received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Tulane University. She has worked in both psychiatric inpatient and outpatient settings.

My approach to therapy begins with a belief that we are all wired for connection. Connection happens when we are heard and understood in relationship to others. I engage our work through compassion, curiosity, humor, perspective, and honesty. I believe that creating a space to slow down and tune into our emotions, beliefs, and responses is a primary way to heal, grow, and authentically relate to others. My passion in counseling is to create a relationship built on safety, trust, and hope, where people feel accepted and challenged to grow in new and meaningful ways. .

Developing and activating your ability to overcome difficult challenges, healing from painful life experiences and achieving your most valued personal goals is the focus of my practice. Lack of motivation, confusion and inertia regarding career and relationships are obstacles we can address in therapy. Treatment options include both brief-solution focused counseling and longer term in-depth therapy.
