I work often with clients on issues such as learning to set and hold boundaries, unpacking codependency, and understanding why they are unhappy in relationships. We all find ourselves repeating behaviors and patterns that once helped but begin to no longer work for us. Often my clients are in a stuck place, a life transition, grieving a loss, or wanting to change relational patterns. Other areas of interest and experience include identifying and addressing current patterns of abuse or healing from past abuse (emotional, sexual, physical, spiritual).

Currently Taking New Clients. I understand you are looking for help and this is the first step to healing your life. I specialize in working with couples, as well as adult individuals struggling with addiction. I see you as a whole person and am mindful of the pain you have experienced and get there are many ways to recovery. In my work with substance abuse I understand the feelings that come along with the burden of addiction. Will I be accepted; am I enough to be loved; do I belong? These are normal questions for most people suffering and questioning addiction. I create safety to help explore these questions.

I help clients to build a life worth living, that feels meaningful, and help them to reclaim their voice in the world, free from the reign of food, anxiety and/or depression. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship that is a trusting and collaborative alliance to support you in becoming the person you want to be, by working through the things that hold you back.

I especially enjoy working with women, single mothers, and the LGBTQ+ community.
Therapy can be such a gift to oneself. A moment to pause and reflect amidst everyday life. A safe space to release emotion and work through old wounds. A place to explore areas of growth and build new habits. I believe that each person holds the answers for themselves, inside themselves but we often get lost in the clutter. I offer a supportive and compassionate space for you to sort through that clutter and let go of what no longer serves you in or for you to live as your most authentic self. "Tell Me, What Is It You Plan To Do With Your One Wild And Precious Life" -Mary Oliver.

Therapy can serve many purposes and often begins as one-thing, evolving into another. Whether a major life change, deep suffering, grief, or curiosity brings you to therapy, we all have much to gain in understanding ourselves better. Life's complexities can make it difficult to unweave our own comprehension of the abilities and power we wield. Some of our greatest distresses arise when we feel out of control and uncertain how to bring about change.

My approach to therapy is open minded, collaborative, inclusive, warm, and authentic. I encourage my clients to show up as their authentic selves with the intention to form a trusting therapeutic relationship with them. I aim to walk alongside my clients in their journeys- healing, pattern-breaking, exploration of self, relationship issues, or whatever their journey may look like. I personally tailor my approach to each individual client as therapy is not a “one size fits all.” I find value in community, connection, and laughter in both my daily life and therapy.

Therapy can be a space to pause, explore, bring curiosity and play. I do not view therapy as a place to fix or even “cure”. Rather my approach is grounded in the core belief that it is in and through safe, respectful connection that we find meaning, emotional health, and wellness. When pain and stuck places are given compassionate and non-judgmental attention, one can often access greater self-compassion, connection and possibility. One can explore opening, loosening, and shifting patterns and ways of being, with the goal of creating new ways to learn and listen to all of our parts.

If you are here that means you are likely seeking support for something in your life that feels difficult, overwhelming, confusing, or painful. My work is to offer you a safe, kind, and accepting space to further explore your internal and external realities. Together we will be curious about your unique life experience, the impact of your experience, the struggles and conflicts you may be facing, and what you need to thrive. I believe therapy is the process of uncovering who you were meant to be before the world told you who you should be or wounded you with its expectations and cruelty.

I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. I also am a sex therapist. With my clients, I utilize a client-centered approach, which highlights the client as the expert in their life. While creating a warm and compassionate therapeutic environment, I follow my client's lead in what they would like out of therapy. The most effective therapeutic spaces are also collaborative ones, those in which people are encouraged to cultivate a curiosity about their lives and investigate their place within it. If we work together, we will find the balance between comfort and a healthy amount of challenge.

As an Indian American woman and daughter of immigrant parents, I have experienced the unique challenges of living on the edges of culture and belonging with my identities.
I’m a relational depth-oriented therapist which means that I believe our therapeutic relationship is the transformative engine in therapy for long-term healing. I hold faith in and listen deeply for the inner wisdom of my clients that is sometimes overlooked because of doubt, shame, trauma, and external voices that promote self-abandonment. I believe this work is sacred and that it is as much about creating more capacity for joy and vitality as it is about processing harm. I consider it an honor to journey with each and every person who walks into our shared therapeutic space.

I am a queer relational psychotherapist with a focus of working with the LGBT/Queer community. I work primarily with folks in the queer/trans/poly/kink community. Whether you want to use therapy to talk specifically about issues related to these identities or just want a space where you don't have to define a lot of terms, I could be a good fit. I tend to work with folks on relationship issues, gender transitions, long term trauma, managing mental health diagnoses (like biploar) and substance use issues. My official training is in psychodynamic relational therapy, which is a depth-orientated way of working.

I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, conflict, or issues of identity, especially those in the queer and/or neurodiverse communities. My goal for clinical work together is to provide a safe space to build upon existing strengths, foster self-compassion and self-understanding, and be a true collaborator in the exploration of conscious or unconscious thoughts, behaviors, feelings and reactions that may be holding you back from feeling well. I hope to promote true change together through a supportive, accepting, caring, educational and encouraging therapeutic relationship.

Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, and there are times when we can feel overwhelmed and stressed. Our emotions are not good or bad, they offer signals of what may be wrong or need attention. I provide individual and couple therapy by offering a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space to process life’s complexities and deeper emotions. I view the counseling process as forming an alliance with clients to explore the nature of their pain, trauma, and disconnection. Often it is in a relationship with others where we are harmed, but it is also in a relationship with God and others where we can find healing.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
