I am trained in somatic therapy which works with trauma in the fight/flight/freeze responses in our bodies as well as existential therapy which addresses the core issues that undergird our surface level anxieties.
Anxiety, trauma, addiction, depression...these things are universal forces that touch each of us in some way. No matter how they present themselves, two things are certain. First, that none of us is meant to face them alone and second, that none of them need be a life sentence. Each of us goes through pain and suffering relationally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Each of us deserves someone who will walk with us as we heal.

I believe therapy is about helping people realize the greatest amount of happiness in their lives. This may be learning how to manage one's depression and anxiety, a child or adolescent managing their opposition and defiance, or even some skills to make a speech or fall asleep. I also feel therapy is key in processing daily conflicts that affect our thoughts and feelings, but also learning how to make the best decisions that we value.

We’re all just walking each other home - Ram Dass. You find yourself standing at a crossroads, the weight of past traumas, daily stresses, and unspoken fears heavy on your shoulders. The voices of doubt and confusion echo in your mind, turning what was once a clear path into a tangled maze of uncertainty. Each decision feels monumental, each step forward feels shaky, contributing to a profound sense of overwhelm. It’s dark here, and the face in the mirror feels like a stranger, each day a battle with fear. Maybe you wake up each morning dreading the day ahead, gripped by a fear that’s both familiar and indescribable.

My ideal client isn't sure about their relationship with substances. Most people I work with tend to use alcohol, weed, and other drugs to treat their anxiety, depression, and trauma. Others use more than they're comfortable with and want to moderate their use. Lastly, many people I've worked with over the past 18 years have had negative experiences in treatment and felt misunderstood or even mistreated by a profession that's supposed to help

Hello! So glad you're here! Asking for help is one of the bravest things someone can do. In a world that tells us to be strong and push through, it can be hard to feel our emotions and say that we need help. Maybe you're struggling with feeling trapped by thoughts about food and your body. Maybe you're struggling with chronic overthinking, feeling down, or a feeling of not measuring up. Whatever it is, I'm here to help! We are not meant to go through life alone - I find it an honor to be trusted to hold so many stories and to walk alongside my clients through whatever is bringing them to my office.

Our mental health and self-care can get lost in the chaos of life' s daily demands. With the distractions of societal strains, personal responsibilities, and professional obligations, we can lose track of our own wellness, strength, and needs. While these external factors probably aren't going anywhere, we can work together to rediscover your connection to your self-worth, resilience, and purpose. We all carry the answers to our own questions, and my job is to support you as you find yours.

Something - some event / loneliness /feeling like a fraud / feeling like something is missing - brought you to look for a resource at this particular time. Wondering "what's wrong with me" What is the message in the difficulty you are having? The answers lie within that message. It is in discovering - or rediscovering - of who you are that you need. It is finding out and getting back to who you genuinely are - only then can you live authentically. Only then can you see your way through. Don't change into someone else. Find - rediscover - your own goodness - your own strengths. Rediscover who YOU are and be that fully.

While understanding from where you have come in family and individual background, together we will develop goals that address the issues you desire to change. I work with individuals, couples and families to assist with any issues of concern.

I am old enough to know that life does not always lend itself to simplistic answers. At various periods we all find ourselves in difficult circumstances that feel overwhelming, sometimes related to life changing tragedies like death, divorce, new medical diagnosis like cancer, job loss, or catastrophic injury. In these situations your life changes in an instant. There is an avalanche of distressing emotions and life no longer feels solid or stable. As a therapist who has experienced some serious, life changing tragedies, I understand those feelings and am specifically trained in grief and trauma.

Existential Therapists

How does existential therapy work?

Existential therapy focuses on a patient’s inner experiences. The therapist tries to help the individual comprehend and alleviate symptoms by exploring their interior life. By confronting negative disquiet and emotions, the individual will hopefully become more open to finding meaning and purpose. This therapy can be administered to individuals or groups.

Is existential therapy evidence-based?

Existential therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has determined that existential therapy can lead to significant improvement in the mental health of patients, and for some people it can be just as effective as cognitive behavioral therapy. The benefits of existential therapy are enduring, even long after treatment has ended.

How long does existential therapy last?

The goal of existential therapy is to understand a person’s internal experiences, which may sound like a lengthy process, but it does not have to be so in-depth. However, sessions are not short-term, and therapy can continue for months or up to a year. And because patients learn the theory behind existential therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.

Is existential therapy effective?

According to research, many patients find success with existential therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving feelings of isolation, feelings of purposelessness, as well as conditions such as anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can persist even after the end of existential therapy, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve developed during treatment.
