Being a therapist is my passion. I consider it an honor to be able to work with everyone of my clients. I understand what it is like to struggle. I also know what it is like to find peace through healing.

I work with those who struggle with anger. Often times the anger is brought on by unmet expectations and merely a symptom of deeper issues under the surface. It's my job to metaphorically stand in a place you can not see, and point you in the right direction as to the cause of what is contributing to the anger. By doing so, you can receive insight that will enrich your life and change it for the better.

I have training and experience with a variety of issues including substance and non-substance addictions, deafness and hearing loss, relationship problems, depression, anxiety, adjusting to life changes, grief and loss, divorce, identifying and evolving toward life goals. Intimacy, improving self-esteem, self-confidence, and ability to communicate are often areas that people chose to work on. Sharing your life with another can be joyful and difficult. I am a queer relational psychotherapist with a focus of working with the LGBT/Queer community. I work primarily with folks in the queer/trans/poly/kink community. Whether you want to use therapy to talk specifically about issues related to these identities or just want a space where you don't have to define a lot of terms, I could be a good fit. I tend to work with folks on relationship issues, gender transitions, long term trauma, managing mental health diagnoses (like biploar) and substance use issues. My official training is in psychodynamic relational therapy, which is a depth-orientated way of working.

My greatest desire as a therapist is to offer a space where you feel seen and heard in your entirety as a human. My hope is to develop a relationship that is completely judgement free, safe, authentic, and sincere so you can dig deeper into understanding the "why" behind self- sabotaging behaviors and thought patterns. Whether you've struggled with a recent tragedy, a relational challenge, anxiety management, depression, substance use, or just need a place for expression- I am here to offer my expertise and walk alongside you at a pace that is right for you.

Calling the truth-seekers, the plant medicine-sitters, "the lovers, the dreamers, and me", this is an invitation to work with someone who *gets it* and is committed to being part of the modern paradigm shift. I don't want to diagnose you, but instead help you find the gift in all the ways you are uniquely YOU. Working for 15+ years in addiction & recovery makes me somewhat of an expert in those realms, but I am much more interested in revealing how YOU are the expert of your experience. Together we will find the path back to your own loving heart thru Inner Child Work and Psychedelic Harm Reduction & Integration. REMEMBER with me

Drug Abuse Therapists
How do substance and drug recovery or rehabilitation programs work?
In inpatient programs, individuals live in a facility with other clients in recovery; in outpatient programs, individuals reside at home. These facilities are staffed with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, psychologists, counselors, and psychotherapists. Staff often also includes people who have recovered themselves, serving as mentors and guides. These programs may use abstinence, harm reduction, detoxification, psychotherapy, and other methods.
How do 12-step programs combined with psychotherapy work?
Members of 12-step programs help each other reach abstinence and work to maintain it. These programs promote complete change in the individual’s emotional, mental, physical, and even spiritual perspectives. Some programs require that new members attend 90 meetings in 90 days. Many people do attend these programs in conjunction with their work in psychotherapy; the combination of therapy along with 12-step can be extremely effective.
How does harm reduction combined with psychotherapy work?
According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, harm reduction prevents death, injury, disease, overdose, and substance misuse. People who choose harm reduction for substance use reduce the amount of drugs they consume. It is not abstinence-based like a 12-step program, but combining harm reduction with psychotherapy proves to be effective for many people.
Are there specific medications for substance and drug use?
There are medications approved to treat substance use disorder—such as buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone, and acamprosate. These medications do help people cope with substance use as well as avoid the problem of relapse. Naltrexone can help reduce cravings, methadone is an opioid medication used to treat severe pain, and acamprosate may help ease symptoms like poor sleep and anxious feelings.
