Hello, I am a MHR Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern practicing under the supervision of Jan Plavchak, LPC-S, at Empowerment Behavioral Health Counseling & Consulting, LLC. I work alongside individuals who are grieving, recovering from traumatic events/histories, or navigating transitions in their lives. Processing vicarious trauma is a strength of mine. I work with clients as they connect with themselves and others, moving forward to meet their desired goals.

As a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor, I have the privilege of helping those effected by substance abuse and addiction regain their lives and overcome their destructive behavior. I have been practicing Clinical Social for 47 years. In 1988 I began in private practice of psychotherapy. 12 years ago I realized my passion was in the specialty of Marital Therapy. My goal is to facilitate troubled marriages to not just survive, but to thrive. I believe in the sanctity of marriage, and we will work very hard together to maintain that relationship.I am psychodynamically trained but utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment therapy and insight oriented couples therapy. I assist clients in seeing how their past could be affecting them in their present life. We work together to identify schemas and heal the wounds that have become emotional hindrances and relationship barriers. Additionally, I believe that relational issues can often begin or be perpetuated by differences in temperament/personality and unhealthy boundaries.
