I will recognize that you are the expert in your life while incorporating evidence-based practices that may include DBT, ACT, & Brainspotting.
Sometimes we feel stuck. We’ve tried on our own to heal, grow, and learn but we still find ourselves in the same patterns that have led to a continuous cycle of confusion, shame, and hopelessness. You are not alone. If you have found yourself questioning your worth, your relationships, or your identity, I am here to help. Most of us know, logically, that hardship, distress, and unwanted emotions are a part of life. But sometimes we were not given the correct tools to manage these difficult experiences. Together, I believe we can connect back to your authentic self so that you can lead the life you want.

I draw on elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy ( DBT), Compassionate-Focused Therapy, Solutions-Focused Therapy with an emphasis on trauma-informed care.
Hello! I am available to support individuals in their healing journeys. I create a space for compassionate, non-judgmental conversation. I enjoy working with folks dealing with depression and anxiety, life transitions, identity shifts and relational dynamics. I particularly enjoy exploring shifts in parenthood whether that is becoming a new parent, “empty nester” or struggling to achieve parenthood of your desire (natural conception, fertility-assisted conception, adoption, surrogacy).

I utilize an attachment based approach and incorporate EMDR, ACT, IFS, and DBT to guide individuals through their healing journey.
Let’s be honest, being a human is tough and at times, it might feel like it’s too much. Sometimes we find ourselves stuck in shame spirals or narratives about ourselves that at some point allowed us to endure life’s challenges but are no longer effective. We might turn to alcohol, relationships, drugs, social media, or work to soothe the parts of us that want relief. It’s okay to need support to unlearn these patterns and learn new ways of living that increases our sense of purpose. Everyone’s path looks different and you don’t have to navigate yours alone.

Modalities I include but not limited to DBT, CBT, EMDR, solution focused & family systems.
Life can become overwhelming and exhausting when you are trying to juggle everything in your world. You may want more clarity in life or want to find a new direction. You may feel stuck and having a hard time moving forward. It can be exhausting trying to muster up the energy to get out of bed and take care of your responsibilities and yourself. You may have thoughts you are not worthy or have a fractured sense of self. What would it feel like to have the energy and motivation to finally take on the day again, to feel worthy to live the life you want, or to smash those goals you have put off?

Some approaches I draw from are Existentialism, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy ( DBT), Attachment Theory, Harm Reduction, Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness and more.
In an unprecedented world, we have unprecedented feelings. Whether you’re still healing, or sprouting beyond wreckage, it would be a tremendous honor to be there with you. Every person I meet has a special set of challenges and a unique personality. As we get to know each other, I can tailor our approach to therapy over time to pull from different bases of knowledge. I have an ongoing commitment with myself to decolonizing my therapy practice. Together, we can achieve the velocity of escaping the stories we have been socialized into without our permission.

My therapeutic style is mixed; I largely utilize approaches from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
Life is full of many and varied types of suffering, much of which strikes in unexpected and unwanted moments. Kurt Vonnegut wrote that "we are here to help each other get through this thing, whatever it is," and I pledge to work with my clients to shift our relationship with our own suffering. I want to both reduce the heaviness of one's inner problematic experiences and to create more distance and balance with how they are experienced.

My approaches include but are not limited to: EMDR, somatic approach to psychotherapy, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, art therapy, narrative therapy, Addictions counseling and relapse prevention, internal family systems, Jungian dream interpretation, attachment-informed counseling, healthy coping skills, family system therapy.
Wholeness leads to healing. I guide my clients to accept all parts of themselves and find balance in their lives. I entered the field of counseling with a passion for treating trauma (big T and little t trauma). Along the way I gathered some exceptional tools for doing so, including EMDR and a somatic approach to psychotherapy. Not so far removed from trauma, I have also developed a specialty in treating addiction of all kinds. I have seen the power of emotional healing to transform people's lives in ways they always wanted but didn't know how. I am here to help whenever the client is ready to do that brave and powerful work.

I have studied a number of therapy modalities although my specialty is Dialectical Behavioral Therapy ( DBT), which I have trained in since 2007.
You are allowed to be a masterpiece and a work in progress at the same time - Sophia Bush. Are you at war with your emotions, food, or your body? Well, that's just the tip of the iceberg, and I invite you to take you on a journey below the surface. I am a DBT-certified, trauma-certified, and Intuitive Eating certified therapist and I see therapy as a journey we take together; you’re the driver and I'm the helpful passenger :) I have been a licensed therapist for 17 years, supporting people with eating disorders, issues with emotion regulation, body image issues, and borderline personality disorder. You're never "too much" for me.

I am certified and formally trained in DBT and use multiple approaches to best support your needs within a session.
Being a human is a difficult job! But you're doing it. Together we can find ways to make it feel a little easier. You may be feeling overwhelmed, struggling to cope with the day to day, or have little support or people to turn. You may be entering a big life transition like a breakup or are in a stage of "adulting" that feels uncomfortable. Therapy is a great option for any of these reasons. I'm here to listen, problem solve and support. I offer a safe and accepting space for you to process whatever it is that's going on right now in a space that is trauma informed, LGBTQIA+ celebratory, body positive and sex positive.

I've been working in this field for 10+ years and am trained in EMDR, ACT, DBT, and MI, but the most important part is that I commit to being on YOUR team even when things get hard.
I help young adult women feel confident, competent, & in control of their lives. My clients are exhausted like you are. Despite being hard working, determined, & creative, they still feel stuck in a loop. They feel like they’re drowning in a storm of stress, high expectations & confusion about the path ahead-- it’s a full time job keeping their head just above the rising water. They vacillate between feeling powerful & powerless, motivated & avoidant, on top of the world & crushed beneath it’s weight. Sometimes they have a formal diagnosis of Anxiety, Depression, or Trauma, and sometimes... well, sometimes life is just hard.

I utilize an eclectic mix of models that fit your specific needs, such as IFS, DBT, REBT, and a bit of spirituality and Jung thrown in! I believe that we can all grow into our authentic selves; we just might need a helping hand.
Neurodivergence, trauma, and anxiety tend to go hand-in-hand. As a neurodivergent person with 7 years in the field, I offer unconditional support on your journey to unpack and process your own traits, trauma, and emotional struggles, set and uphold boundaries around your needs, manage your nervous system, understand how your brain and body are working, identify your parts and work with them, build self-worth and self-efficacy, and have more confidence in walking the path YOU want, rather than one expected of you by others. LGBTQIA+ allied. Parenting/grief/direct care-friendly. Meeka, Canine Queen of Therapy, often walks with us.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
