The clients I tend to gravitate towards are those who are neurodivergent, highly sensitive, struggle with eating disorders/disordered eating, are unpacking unhelpful and often harmful messages that they've internalized, relearning their true selves, and finding a way to safely be embodied in their body and their place in this world.

Life is full of a good deal of various types of suffering, much of which strikes in unexpected and unwanted moments. Kurt Vonnegut wrote that "we are here to help each other get through this thing, whatever it is," and I pledge to work with my clients to shift our relationship with our own suffering. I want to both reduce the heaviness of one's inner problematic experiences and to create more space and balance with how they are experienced.

Neurodivergence, trauma, and anxiety tend to go hand-in-hand. As a neurodivergent person with 8 years in the field, I offer unconditional support on your journey to unpack and process your own traits, trauma, and emotional struggles, set and uphold boundaries around your needs, manage your nervous system, understand how your brain and body are working, identify your parts and work with them, build self-worth and self-efficacy, and have more confidence in walking the path YOU want, rather than one expected of you by others. LGBTQIA+ allied. Parenting/grief/direct care-friendly.

I have been there and I want to use my experiences to help. Because I approach client goals with a team mentality you will be in the drivers seat from day one.

You notice yourself trying to manage heightened anxiety or panic associated with uncertainty. You feel easily overwhelmed by changes in your environment, social settings, and other people’s moods. You experience yourself as sensitive, shy, or struggling with self-esteem. You may be navigating stressors associated with our sociopolitical climate, and need a supportive space to share how changes are impacting your well-being.

When certain parts of our life feel out of control, it creates stress that impacts other areas of our life. Seeking help can feel like a chore. Not only do you have to find a therapist that feels like a good fit, but you have to tell your story to a stranger. I know all of this, and I want to make it feel easy, productive, and worth your time. I enjoy helping all people, but some of my refined interests include traumatic stress, attachment injuries, SUD's, and life transitions. I can help adults, teens, kids, couples and families. In my work with teens, I have interest and experience in helping adoptees and transnational adoptees.

I believe in change; that when a person is dissatisfied, they can make little shifts that can create big impacts. I believe in the power of the individual. My typical clientele are adults struggling with anxiety, trauma symptoms, or depression.

Welcome – I appreciate your presence here and want to say that you deserve to feel better. I’m an integrative clinician who specializes in working on childhood trauma. If you feel undeserving and struggle with trusting others, frequently overreact and shut down emotionally, or use unhealthy coping mechanisms, then you may be among the millions of adults with unprocessed childhood trauma. Left untreated, unprocessed childhood trauma can negatively affect the present, often wreaking havoc on relationships and one’s quality of life, but it doesn’t need to continue.

Sometimes the hardest moments aren’t the ones we expect. Sure, no one’s surprised when a divorce, death, or natural disaster is life-changing. But we’re often caught off guard by what brings us to therapy—depression after a short relationship, feeling stuck in draining, one-sided friendships, relationships, or jobs, or guilt after an abortion you know you wanted. It’s hard being a deep-feeling person, and even harder to be a woman balancing this oddly specific trajectory society has for us. I know what it’s like to feel trapped in someone else’s movie—and the effort, heartache, and ultimate joy of rewriting your own script.

I specialize in leading interpersonal process groups, both online and in person. I'm currently only accepting new clients who are interested in joining a group. My Wednesday morning in-person group has one seat available, and in late July of 2025 I'm starting two new virtual groups that will meet monthly.
Not familiar with process groups? In a nutshell, they provide group members with repeated opportunities to put thoughts and feelings into words as they arise, toward other people. The groups I facilitate have a here-and-now focus, inviting members to stay with the uncomfortable emotions they would normally avoid or ignore.

We all have had experiences throughout life that shape, enhance, or distort our perceptions of relationships and interactions. Some of these experiences can hinder us, stop us in our tracks, keep us cycling in a dysfunctional loop, or thrust us forward into turmoil. We can get stuck in these places, desperately seeking a way out. Depression, anxiety, anger, and loneliness kick us into a dysfunctional spiral. These cycles often pair with undercurrents of pain, confusion, self-criticism, doubt, and shame. I want to help shine light on the map you have been using by sorting out your thoughts and feelings.

Are you a smart and intuitive person who is interested in going to hard places in order to create the change you desire? The brain wants to heal itself and sometimes it needs a little help to get there. Our work together would help you understand why you believe what you believe, why your emotions can sometimes run away with you and creating imbalance for your mind and body. Finding beliefs that aren't working anymore for you and finding self compassion are my strengths.

I work with individuals and people in partnerships who need support in the midst of life transitions and/or are experiencing difficulties within their relationships. I am here to help you uncover and discover the nuances that make you unique so that you can find deeper meaning and connection in your experiences, and in your relationships. At times, it may be challenging and overwhelming to make sense of everything life throws at us. Our societal standards put pressure on us in many ways and we are often expected to tackle these problems alone. It takes strength and courage to seek help and I am here to support you.

This isn’t about a ‘failure to launch’ – not really. This is more about a failure to fail. Somewhere along the way, a lot of us got the idea stuck in our heads exactly what it means to succeed. The prospect of falling short of that ideal got so damn overwhelming, that we decided to side step trying just to avoid coming up short. Our program is about trudging through that concept. About doing the things. About learning through the evidence of your own experience. It’s about what comes next. When you think you’re ready, give us a shout. We work on the active-ingredients of the change-process. And we’ve been doing it for years.

I enjoy working with teens or adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, or uncertain about how to navigate a major life transition—whether it's starting college, changing careers, experiencing a relationship shift, or redefining their identity. They may struggle with persistent self-doubt, low self-esteem, or a critical inner voice that affects their ability to function with confidence and clarity. Often, they’ve tried to “push through” on their own, but find themselves stuck in patterns that no longer serve them.

Something pivotal in your life has recently occurred. You might be grieving a loss, experiencing a shift in a relationship, starting a new job or in the thick of life itself. Maybe you find yourself in thought spirals or analysis paralysis because the thought of making a decision or choice is too daunting. People tell you to “trust your gut,” but you’re not sure what that really means; depending on others has become the norm. It can be so hard to advocate for yourself and your needs and you’re feeling unworthy of having any needs at all. You often feel detached from your body. I know how you feel, I’ve been there.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
