My client's goal will be to build a foundation of good mental health that they can carry with them for the rest of their lives and use to improve their own lives as well as their family and friends. My ideal client comes to therapy because they want to be there and value what they can learn from their therapist and themselves.

I have experience working with all types of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and complex trauma. My secondary specialties include severe chronic mental illness, relationship problems, recovery from previous domestic violence, LTGBQ+ concerns, self-harm, and developmental or attachment wounds from childhood. I continue to take continuing education classes to improve my knowledge and skills in these areas. I especially enjoy working with clients motivated to improve their lives and willing to take responsibility for their success rather than expecting others to do their work.

While a client’s concerns are unique and personal, there is nothing they cannot overcome through effective therapeutic interventions and a highly-trained and relatable clinician.

Are you a young adult woman experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, and even trauma? Self-discovery and creating/finding identity are goals I work best with. In my most recent job, I have found that domestic violence survivors and women who experience issues specific to being a woman have piqued my interest. As a therapist, the most rewarding thing is to guide women toward embracing themselves for who they are, heal past wounds, and empower them to live fully and authentically. I believe I have been given a purpose in this world to serve others, and that's what I was created to do.

I have been working with individuals and families in non-profit settings for 18 years. I have masters degrees in both education and clinical mental health counseling and years of experience in non-profit management, such as teaching, training, grant writing, policy writing, and research. I specialize in helping individuals, couples, and families identify and achieve their goals by overcoming those issues that cause distress and anxiety.

Having worked in an inpatient behavioral health setting for 15 years, I have encountered a variety of mental health diagnoses which has provided me with an abundance of experience to offer my clients. Although I have worked with all demographic, I specifically enjoy working with older children and adolescents.

Miranda graduated from Ohio University with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and has completed her Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary. She has received specialized training in Couples counseling through the Gottman Institute (level 3 certification). She is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling. Miranda considers it a high honor to be entrusted with the call to walk along others in their struggles. She is passionate about helping others find freedom, healing, and restoration.
