Life often rains on our plans, and I want to help you find a raincoat and dance in the storm, "fearless." I want to offer you support in learning how to cope with traumatic life experiences, losses, depression, compulsions, and anxiety. As someone diagnosed with ADHD and an autoimmune disease, I understand what it is like to navigate the world differently and crave understanding from those around you. I believe in offering palpable interventions, a little bit of humor, and alternative perspectives that will eventually allow you to be your own therapist and thrive in various environments. I also believe in you.

My goal is to foster a warm, accepting, and respectful environment where we celebrate the beauty of ADHD while exploring and addressing the practical, emotional, psychological, and relational impacts of being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world.
I feel both honored and privileged to partner with individuals and couples to build their understanding of their challenges, leverage their strengths, and create personalized strategies to make meaningful changes in their lives. As a therapist with ADHD, I recognize that one of the most painful experiences that come with ADHD is feeling “in your own way” and the sense of thwarted potential that comes along with it. I also know that ADHD doesn’t just impact attention, organization, and motivation; it can affect your entire life, from your performance at work to your home life and inner world.

I am most suited to help clients dealing with loss, prior childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, identity (in all its manifestations), divorce, self-esteem, grief, and emotional regulation.
I specialize in working with clients from the ages of 14 to adulthood, who are inquisitive, self-aware, and deeply motivated to understand themselves better, improve their relationships, move into a place of self-respect/love, and develop adaptive ways of coping, communicating, and problem-solving. I have worked for many years with children, teens, adults, and families dealing with trauma and change and searching for authenticity, often in a world that values the superficial. Therapy is a process of seeking meaning, managing change, letting go of what no longer makes sense for who we are and what we want, healing, and growing.

I treat every client as a being in their entirety and aim to address all aspects of their lives that they feel have been impacted by ADHD.
I believe that therapy should be a partnership and strive to create a warm environment where trust can grow and people can thrive. I hope to help each of my clients identify what makes them their best selves and learn how to leverage those strengths. By finding ways to work with your unique brain instead of against it, we can create individualized strategies that are both practical and effective for you and your ADHD. As a person with ADHD myself, I also know that its effects often reach outside of productivity and organization into psychological and emotional wellbeing.

My work focuses on exploring how your experiences with ADHD and interactions with your environment have impacted how you presently see yourself, to grow to a place of acceptance of your unique brain.
With everything going on in your world, ADHD may feel like the last thing you want to be dealing with right now. Between work, family, and trying to meet your personal goals, it can feel like ADHD is just throwing a wrench in everything. Maybe you’ve tried to get a handle on it before, or maybe this is your first time seeking help. Whatever brought you here, I’m really glad you made it. It’s not easy admitting that things could be smoother—and let’s face it, everyone could use a little help sometimes. You deserve to feel more in control, more balanced, and like you’re finally able to follow through on the things that matter to you.

I work with adults with ADHD.
It is my honor to collaborate with clients as they access their strengths and resilience to make and maintain meaningful change. I work to create a warm, non-judgment, and trauma-informed therapy space, so we can develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to your personal values and needs. We then partner together as we explore the many facets and layers of you, your family, and your environment in order to help you learn more about yourself, understand your struggles, and make concrete changes in your life. I believe in a person’s ongoing ability to grow and change and it is my pleasure to partner with you on that journey.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?
You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.
How does treatment for ADHD work?
Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.
Are there specific medications for ADHD?
Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.
How long does treatment for ADHD take?
It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
