In my practice, I most enjoy working with young adult and adult clients experiencing life transitions, grief and loss, relationship struggles, anxiety, depression, chronic and acute illness, and caregiver stress, particularly those caring for a parent.
As a social worker by training, I use a strengths-based approach, helping clients identify what innate abilities and qualities they can draw on in times of struggle. I also incorporate mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, and creative modalities, depending on each client's needs and preferences.
My experience working as a hospital ICU social worker defined the importance of identifying values as a way to guide the choices we make in pursuit of a full, meaningful life where we are able to accept the struggles that come with it. My goal is to work with clients to help them enact and sustain meaningful change.
