Please note that I have limited availability for new telehealth clients. My work with individuals addresses emotional regulation, relational difficulties, anxiety management, life transitions, and self-esteem. Additionally, I have received specialized training to work with individuals who are planning a pregnancy, have experienced a miscarriage, are currently pregnant, or are in their postpartum period. My work with parents of young children aims to address stress management, respond to specific behavioral concerns, increase effective communication, and improve the parent-child dynamic.

You are brave, curious and brilliant but feel like you are an imposter and never good enough. You have tried people pleasing and a relentless pursuit of self-improvement strategies but can’t shake off the feeling of not being worthy. You long for true belonging, confidence and to live your most authentic expression by releasing old patterns that no longer serve you. You are not alone. I believe that we all have inherent within us expansive wisdom, and capacity to heal. We can't always access our truest Self because of past trauma, societal pressures and habitual patterns that keep us disengaged from our true nature.

Life is full of struggles that we all face in our own way. In therapy, we can work together to understand & explore the challenges you face in your everyday life. I work to create a safe, non-judgmental space where we can work to understand you in a deeper, more complete way. Together we can face your troubling thoughts, feelings, & behaviors. As a psychodynamically trained therapist, I will help you navigate your past experiences, thoughts, and emotions, in order for you to gain insight and address your current every day struggles. I have experience and work with those that have undergone traumatic encounters. I believe that healing comes from addressing the traumas and confronting the difficulties that come from them, such as unhealthy boundaries and maladaptive coping. I utilize a mindfulness and strengths-based approach in addition to creating a stabilizing and safe environment to be able to process and deal with the emotions that result from the extremes of traumas that we experience. I tend to use action and coaching-oriented skills focusing on the behavioral aspects of management of stress and coping with the chronic impacts of trauma and relationships.

A "desire line" is a foot path made by us – people walking over time, as we discover that the path made for us isn't the easiest, safest or most fun route to walk. Desire lines remind us that we are not alone with our longing, frustration or irritation, nor are we alone in our search for fulfillment, peace or pleasure. Desire lines are also a good metaphor for life. Maybe you and your partner are on an unchosen or changing path and you need a therapist to help you navigate new territory.

Accepting new clients. Welcome! Congratulations on taking the courageous first step of seeking out a therapist. It is an act of bravery and courage to explore what is impacting you or your child. A main focus of my approach is to create a safe and welcoming environment where each individual feels comfortable being themselves as we maneuver the therapeutic process together. Contacting a therapist can feel intimidating and overwhelming, but I hope you will take a minute (and maybe a few deep breaths) to email or call and see how I can help.

Life can be hard, confusing and painful sometimes. There can be a lot of loss that's difficult to process and accept. It can be hard to find meaning in the things that happen and sometimes challenging to find our full, true, whole selves, especially as we change and grow over time. Taking care of so many responsibilities, other people and ourselves can be overwhelming. I'm here to help you find clarity and calm in the middle of life's storms. You can have a fulfilling, authentic life no matter what you've been through. Sometimes we just need that outside person who encourages us and offers new viewpoints.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
