I specialize in the treatment of anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, relationship issues, and codependency.
Do you ever wonder why you have anxiety, nervous tension, mood fluctuations, an inability to concentrate, or a lack of motivation? There are reasons for symptoms such as these, some of which may be environmental, including past trauma or adverse childhood experiences, some biological or hereditary and some related to current stressors. But it is important to have an understanding of these factors, as this type of knowledge is power. In my practice, I offer supportive, compassionate counseling that encourages insight and understanding on the part of my clients, but is also solution-focused with feedback and guidance where needed.

I work with adults and teens struggling with depression, anxiety, substance dependence, life transitions, trauma, and relationship concerns. I have training in DBT and Somatic Psychotherapy. I enjoy working with LGBTQ+ and am passionate about viewing therapy through a cultural lens. As a Gottman trained couples therapist, I am skilled in conflict management and spend a lot of time teaching couples new tools to communicate more effectively. One of the most common relationship challenges are changes in intimacy, so I help many people, both individually and those in relationships, learn how to reconnect both physically and emotionally.

I enjoy working with teens, adult individuals and couples to help navigate through a variety of issues, ranging from grief, depression, anxiety, premarital, relationship struggles, and self-esteem.
Life can be so unfair and being human is incredibly difficult, yet there is also so much beauty in life to experience as well! It can be exhausting to feel like you have to put on a front and be filtered in order to do life while suffering. Learning to find a way to hold and make sense of these contradictions can be a painful, confusing and complicated process! We often view things as being “either/or” when much of life is actually "both/and." My desire is to create a safe place for you to JUST BE…unfiltered…to help process, and receive rest for your soul and mind in order to heal and live life as your best authentic self.

With specialties in addiction and dual diagnosis; including depression, anxiety and trauma history, I take an integrated, holistic approach to care. The therapeutic relationship is one in which optimum healing is, as a result of the reciprocal bond, between the therapist and the client. One can only be open to the experience of change and improvement in their life if they feel safe. This is the therapy space that I provide in order to help shape authentic, loving and accurate self-awareness. I provide nurturance, guidance, affirmation and compassionate reflection in order to help clients feel grounded in their own decision-making.

I have been given the greatest opportunity to be welcomed into my clients' lives and assist them in creating their definition and plan for a well life. I focus on the working relationship between my clients' and I, where theory and practice only enhances the work done in session. My goal is not to be a client's therapist every week for the rest of their lives, but rather to have them create the strength and determination to leave my office applying it to their everyday lives.

Are you worried about your child? Maybe you've tried and tried to help them, but things are just not getting better. Or maybe you know they're going through a lot, but you're not sure how to support them. I often work with parents who are concerned about their child's behavior, sleep, eating, social skills, or school performance. Sometimes, parents want to help their child cope with a separation, adoption, move, scary experience, or major loss. Other times, parents reach out because their child is struggling or hurting, or when they notice that their relationship with their child is becoming strained or difficult.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
