I pull from DBT, CBT, Gottman and narrative therapy when direct, tangible skills are needed.
If you're feeling stuck, anxious about your future, and finding it difficult to move forward in your life than I would love to chat with you. I offer a nonjudgmental space where you can be both supported and encouraged to lean into the discomfort. I provide space to process feelings and also provide tangible skills so therapy is a daily practice. I work with teens (12+), young adults navigating the complexity of launching their lives, couples and adults experiencing burn out, anxiety, and difficulty seeing their own self worth. I believe each person has their own inner wisdom and I want to help you access it.

I combine humanistic and psychodynamic approaches with evidence-based practices, including CBT and DBT.
The foundation of my therapeutic practice includes meeting clients with empathy, warmth, and authenticity. I strive to help clients gain insight around the ways that the past impacts the present, develop tools to navigate life mindfully, and build towards their vision of a life worth living. I focus on developing a collaborative relationship with clients in which they feel validated, respected, and honored in their own unique journey in life. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to begin the process of personal exploration and growth.

I received training at the Cedars-Sinai Outpatient Psychiatry department, worked at a comprehensive DBT program, became certified in Interpersonal Psychotherapy, and certified in CBT as a Diplomate with the Academy of Cognitive & Behavioral Therapies.
It is often not easy to seek support, however you're already showing a tremendous amount of courage by considering therapy. I am a certified CBT therapist specializing in depression, anxiety, OCD, difficulty with emotions, and life transitional issues. I believe individuals have unique needs, and I bring both my experience and collaborative skills into treatment. I am dedicated to, and extremely passionate about assisting people to develop more meaning, success, and pleasure in their life. By working collaboratively we can recognize challenges, identify treatment goals, and develop skills to improve the quality of your life.

I combine person-centered approaches with CBT and DBT skills to cultivate self-efficacy.
I see therapy as a collaborative process exploring how the past informs the present and allowing trust and authenticity to foster insight and development. I strive to provide the highest quality of care, focusing on the unique needs of each individual and creating a safe environment with room for challenges, exploration, process, and growth. I help clients learn and practice skills for tolerating pain in times of crisis, responding instead of reacting, increasing self-respect, improving relationships, and participating fully in each moment. My ultimate goal is to help my clients build and nurture a life they feel is worth living.

I utilize CBT, DBT, and Mindfulness-based approaches.
I am a licensed MFT working with individual adult clients seeking positive change in their lives. I was training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and I believe when we change, life changes. Positive shifts such as increased self-agency and improved relationships with others and with oneself start happening for clients on the internal and external levels of their lives. Internally means clients start feeling more relief, and more satisfaction and external positive shifts mean they “get” more of what they want from work, relationships, or other areas of their lives they care about.

I pull from Dialectical Behavioral, Narrative and Solution-Focused therapies to tailor treatment to each client, adapting as I learn more about them.
Does your depression work the graveyard shift? Do you act like it's your birthday every day? Does the idea of spending time with people you don’t know fill you with a desire to become fused to your couch? Is social media your coping strategy? I believe the best way to work together is to really get to know you. There’s room to talk about things that are challenging and whose music you’re vibing with, and everything in between. I provide a modern, customized therapeutic experience and my therapy style is person-focused and relaxed.

Our work together will be based on evidence-based treatments (meaning, there's research to show they work) such as: mindfulness, DBT, ACT, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Trauma Informed Yoga.
You're putting one foot in front of the other and you still feel lost, stuck, or overwhelmed by events and emotions in your life. Or, perhaps it's become hard to tackle the day-to-day and you're longing to reconnect with the person you used to be. Maybe you feel caught in the past or tangled up in the future, disconnected from all that your life has to offer in this moment. Whether you know exactly how you want your life to shift as a result of being in therapy, or, you know only that you want to feel better than you do now, there is the possibility of living the life that feels best for you.

I use modern attachment theory paired with mindfulness and compassion approaches, and I will often utilize tools from a wider variety of therapeutic approaches including CBT, DBT, solution focused psychotherapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and others to ensure the work we do together is a beneficial as it can be.
Maybe you're suffering deeply with something that's been with you since you were a child or difficulties that have come up just recently. Perhaps you're not sure what's wrong, but things just don't seem quite right in your life. Considering psychotherapy is brave and a sign of your potential to heal and grow. I work in partnership with my clients to help them explore what's going on in their lives, how they're thinking and feeling about those things, and take steps to change them.

I use an individualized, person-centered approach and incorporate DBT, mindfulness, and self-compassion skills into my practice.
I believe everyone is capable of living their fullest, most vibrant life and it is my passion to help them achieve it. I help clients foster insight by processing their past experiences and gently uncovering the ways their pasts connect with their current struggles. I teach clients to discover the patterns and rules that keep them stuck and then support them in cultivating a life that brings them joy and fulfillment. I invite my clients on a journey of self-compassion and teach them how to prioritize gentleness and self-care. I believe therapy can be silly and even fun while still being impactful and effective.

I'm a mindfulness-based therapist specializing in DBT, CBT, and ACT with focused interest in the treatment of Borderline Personality, anxiety, and distorted self-image, especially within the LGBTQ+ community.
If you’re anything like me or my clients, you’re very much aware that your stressful thoughts and emotions keep coming, even though it seems like you’ve done everything you can to stop them. Maybe you’re overwhelmed and can’t relax, believing that you have to do everything by yourself...but then you’re hard on yourself for having feelings and needs! You likely know you don't want to lose your temper so easily or be controlled by your thoughts, and you know that you want more from your life than how it is now. What you likely don’t know is how to make this vision of a life worth living a reality. You're certainly not alone!

I also utilize more traditional methods such as DBT and CBT in creative ways.
Many of us come to therapy because we are experiencing symptoms, feelings or circumstances that we want to change. Only to discover that there might be deeper things that we desire, that the symptoms are only the surface. We discover that we want to find our purpose or calling, that we want freedom from expectations, freedom from fears. We are seeking meaningful and honest relationships. We wish to communicate efficiently. We crave inspiration, imagination, creativity, and clarity. We long to move forward, wherever that place is. We want to expand and feel the infinity that we are and explore all possibilities in our lives.

My therapeutic approach is based off of Attachment Theory, Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dailectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
Starting therapy is a huge step and finding the right therapist is important. I love being able to work with clients as they establish goals, build a self-care routine, and improve their overall mental health. People come to therapy for many reasons, but being able to have someone help navigate your thoughts and feelings and building compassion for yourself in this journey is so important. Helping clients with symptoms of depression, anxiety, new stages in life, and not to mention living through a global pandemic, can cause a lot of distress and challenges. Therapy can help manage all those stressors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists

Who is DBT for?

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?

The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?

Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?

Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
