You might feel like you’re constantly "on," yet stuck in place—battling a brain that won't quiet down, memories that feel too heavy, or relationships that leave you drained. My ideal client is often navigating the invisible weight of ADHD, anxiety, or past trauma while trying to manage major life shifts. You want to stop just "surviving" your days and start feeling grounded. You’re looking for a space where you don't have to filter your reality—a place to understand your patterns, heal your connections, and finally feel like you’re the one in the driver’s seat of your own life.

Many people come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns they don’t fully understand — depression that won’t lift, anxiety that keeps narrowing their world, or a vague but persistent sense that something is “wrong” with them. A line from an Eagles song captures what I’ve witnessed again and again in my work: “So oftentimes it happens that we live our lives in chains and we never even know we have the key.” I became a therapist over a decade ago because I firmly believe that with the right blend of support and challenge, almost anyone can change unworkable patterns in his or her life.

I am so grateful to support clients' journeys of self discovery, perspective shifting and healing. Psychedelics like ketamine & mushrooms can be an incredible assist to this therapeutic process bringing us more deeply into our authentic truths. I believe we all have an inner healer or intuition that can guide us to our path of healing from hurts and reorient us in our relationships to self, others and the world. As your therapist, I will help you get in touch with your inner healer and empower your growth. This can be spirit level work and I will respectfully hold space for your expression and exploration wherever it takes you.

Do you feel like your brain can't slow down, no matter how hard you try? Maybe you’re constantly overthinking, struggling to focus, feeling anxious for no clear reason, or watching your child become overwhelmed, reactive, or shut down. This might not be a lack of insight—it may be a dysregulated nervous system. I specialize in working with kids and adults dealing with stressors like anxiety, ADHD, depression, sleep issues, focus challenges, etc, using a brain-based approach called Neurofeedback. This goes beyond traditional talk therapy to help your brain and body actually learn new, individualized, more effective patterns.

Adults struggling with anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, or substance use often feel stuck, overwhelmed, and unsure how to move forward. They want relief, understanding, and the kind of insight that many years of life experience can bring. They seek a safe, compassionate space to process emotions, build resilience, and restore balance, so they can manage stress, navigate life transitions, and feel more confident, grounded, and capable each day.

I genuinely care about my clients and firmly believe in each person's capacity to bring about positive transformation in their lives. Every individual carries a unique narrative, encompassing both the uplifting and challenging moments. Many of those I work with are eager to comprehend their actions, enhance their relationships, and develop effective coping mechanisms for life's challenges. Just as a laborer needs tools for their trade, we too require a well-equipped toolbox to navigate our journey.

If you’ve ever worried a therapist wouldn’t understand your lifestyle, feared being judged for infidelity or relationship conflict, or felt misunderstood around sex, identity, or desire, you’re in the right place. I work with adults and couples seeking trauma-informed therapy for relationship issues, intimacy and sex concerns, identity exploration, and life transitions. I also work extensively with women around confidence, self-trust, body image, and sex positivity. Many of my clients grew up in religious households and and are now deconstructing what that experience means for them as adults—emotionally and relationally.

I've been in the addictions / mental health (dual diagnosis) field for over 25 years in Colorado. I sincerely believe in clients' ability to make enduring change, after they have learned to identify and accept what's not working in their lives. I'm a very accessible and active therapist, and I offer specialized groups to meet clients' needs. Groups occur Tuesday through Saturday, depending on group assignment. Individual sessions are often a part of effective treatment planning, in addition to, or instead of, group format. Reasonable pricing.

You’ve been trying your hardest in relationships but still feel alone, unsatisfied, or without lasting connections. Or, you find yourself stuck, not having a clear direction or forward-moving energy in life. Trauma, a difficult childhood, and life's challenges can create barriers to relationships or to building the life you want. I have a unique specialty in childhood trauma (birth/medical trauma, early abuse/neglect, maternal separation), but work with all traumas & all ages. Deep Brain Reorienting is a new paradigm in trauma therapy that heals at the deepest level. Therapy will focus around the change you want to see in yourself.

If you are struggling in your relationship with others or with yourself, I am here to help you find safety, security, and a deeper level of connection. I work with couples and individuals with a special focus on clients who are dealing with cancer. I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based method for working with couples to de-escalate negative patterns and increase closeness through new ways of relating to one another. When people feel safe and secure in their relationships, emotional healing becomes a much easier process. This inevitably includes the relationship you have with yourself.

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
