Beginning therapy for the first time or continuing your healing journey means you desire to live better, and that is courageous to choose to do. I want to give you the best experience with therapy. I believe in the beginning it is most important that the space be safe, comfortable, and inspiring for growth. My goal is to allow you to ask any questions and raise any concerns you may have so we can create an atmosphere where you can freely express yourself.

As the daughter of First Responders, and granddaughter to two Veterans, there is a special place in my heart for helping our Nations Hero's heal the wounds acquired while saving and protecting us! Thank You! The last 13 years I have had the pleasure of helping people with a range of mental, emotional and behavioral heath problems such as addictions to substances and behaviors, depression, anxiety, PTSD, parenting/family/relationship problems, life management, TBI, ASD, and treatment resistant depression in adults and teens. I am EMDR trained, working towards certification.

It isn’t random issues that create problems as much as patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. Hopeless depression, alarming anxiety, mental disorder or substance abuse cloud the present and the future. When our mental health is in disrepair and collapse feels imminent, setting a new course seems impossible. The pleasures and certainty of life seem lost. Like restoring old furniture, it takes a commitment to revision friendships and family, or perhaps a job, until deterioration is replaced with a narrative of renewal. We can take time to restore healthy, confident hopes and positive plans to achieve an exceptional life.

Over the last 14 years, I have served clients with a variety of life issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship/intimacy difficulties, parenting concerns, self-esteem, impulse control and motivation. Life is hard - I work with individuals to reduce stress regarding adjusting to transitions in life, relationships, loss, choosing to leave a career or start a new one and overall life dissatisfaction. I enjoy supporting individuals to learn more about the mind-body connection. I desire to be the calming center to help you gather greater clarity.

Tonna is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She attended Oklahoma State University to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree and Southwestern Oklahoma State University to earn a Master of Education in Community Counseling. Tonna enjoys working with adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of challenges including trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, parenting and relationship issues. Tonna is experienced in utilizing therapy approaches that include Person Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, EMDR, TF-CBT.

I understand the difficulty of admitting the need for help and finding a person that is worthy of your trust. I hold my client's trust as sacred and consider it an honor each time I am invited into their life stories. I believe a good counseling service is one where the client has a sense of being in the "drivers seat" throughout the process. This approach allows people to have a strong sense of ownership of their personal growth that empowers them for future life challenges.

I believe that we were made to be in relationship with one another, which means no one is meant to struggle alone. It may sound odd, but I believe that we can find purpose and meaning through our suffering. I am a Christian and enjoy bringing this into the therapy room at the request of the client. My role as a counselor is to provide a safe and nonjudgmental environment for each of my clients in order to promote learning, growth, and healing. I focus on meeting each of my clients where they are and working together to meet their needs.

I will work collaboratively with you to discover tools and strategies that will empower you to reach your goals. In my therapeutic work, I use empathy, psychoeducation, mindfulness techniques, and a combinations of evidence based approaches

My goal as a therapist is to help others become the best version of themselves. I work with and support my clients to achieve mental and emotional well-being while discovering themselves. Too often, we shy away from help because we are ashamed, afraid, or don't understand the process. I believe everyone can benefit from time in therapy and become the author of their own story.
