I work with individuals navigating loss who want space to be honest—without timelines, pressure, or platitudes. My practice focuses on supporting people navigating grief or significant loss, including loss related to death, disability, illness, relationship recovery, identity change, or life transitions. They may be carrying sorrow, confusion, or quiet exhaustion, and want space where nothing needs to be “fixed.” They’re seeking a therapist who honors grief as personal and nonlinear, and who can help them make meaning, feel less alone, and slowly reconnect with life in a way that feels honest and sustainable.

Hi! I’m Kaeden (he/him/his), and I am a licensed independent social worker in the states of Ohio (LISW) and Kentucky (CSW). I specialize in providing therapy to LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent people (ages 15+) as well as anyone looking for a safe and nonjudgemental therapeutic home. If you have struggled in the past to find a provider who "gets" you, I might be the provider for you.

Struggling to connect? Diagnosed (or wondering if you could be) with ADHD/AUD later in life? Facing burnout, or maybe just tired of masking? I'd like to help. I've found a niche in helping others with communication and connection. My lifetime situationship with pattern-recognition comes in handy here; I can’t not see certain communication habits that might benefit from some fine-tuning. This, paired with an eye toward understanding and translating, particularly between varied neurotypes, enables me to cut to the heart of situations and foster clearer conversations between lovers, friends, family members, and even colleagues.

We are all wired to find equilibrium – the state of rest and balance with our body, mind, and spirit. But sometimes outside influences like relationships, work, money, illnesses, politics, and world issues keep that from happening. We take a few steps forward, only to get pushed back much further. If you find yourself struggling to cope and hold things together in the midst of stress, loss, and/or a radical change, Life is likely calling for you to grow. Engaging in therapy is like going on a journey with a trusted guide who sees, hears, teaches, and supports you wholeheartedly.

Hi. My name is Megan, and I'm the owner and operator of Threaded Wellness. I've been a parent and a perinatal mental health counselor for eleven years, and I'm here to tell you that whatever feelings your parenting journey is bringing up for you, it's okay. Everyone has a story, and sometimes it helps to have space to slow down and understand how your experiences have shaped who you are. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck in patterns, or unsure how they ended up feeling this way. Therapy can be a place to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself in a more compassionate way.

You've lived through something terrible that most people do not understand. There is a daily battle inside your head. You constantly fight back memories of what you've experienced. You wake up in a cold sweat with your heart racing. You pick up extra shifts at work, and your phone is a welcome distraction from your thoughts. You grapple with why this has happened to you. When you're at a game or the store, you're exhausted from scanning the crowd. You desperately want to move on and feel some relief, but the harder you try to forget it, the worse you feel. These are normal reactions to a horribly abnormal situation.

Do you struggle to live up to expectations – yours or others’? Do concerns you’d normally handle without much trouble now have you feeling like you’re in over your head? Have you lost touch with your sense of self, and found you have no idea what you want out of life anymore? Such experiences can be discouraging and exhausting, but you don’t have to navigate them on your own. I would like to help you reconnect to the person you want to be. I can’t promise to eliminate your stress, but I can help you tap into your inner strength, quiet your self-critical voice, and return to living life on your terms.

Participating in work, family life and daily tasks can be exhausting when dealing with mental and emotional distress. The fear of seeking assistance can often make matters worse. By providing a warm therapeutic style, I empower patients to feel safe, comfortable, and confident as we explore areas of concern. I emphasize building awareness of emotions, choices, and behaviors that can create difficult patterns of functioning. Together we will focus on developing greater mental and emotional self-awareness. Through supportive therapeutic intervention, I encourage patients to challenge themselves and to improve their quality of life.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
