The struggles we face as we travel through life may leave us feeling like a piece of the self has been cracked, chipped away, covered up, or like shadows have formed within one’s self. In relationships it may feel like there is something wrong, but difficult to pinpoint what. Whatever brought you here, you have taken the first step, moving towards becoming more whole and changing your life for the better. Through a collaborative approach, my goal is to help you put the pieces together in a way that feels best to you, so that you may move forward in your life towards a happier and more fulfilling future.

I enjoy helping my clients on their journey to better themselves and those around them. I believe that all of us get stuck at times throughout our lives, and can use some guidance and someone to talk to. I have experience working with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. I believe that God has a plan for us all and wants us to be happy and fulfilled in life. Currently, I am offering Telehealth in addition to in-person visits.

You may struggle to be present - instead ruminating about the past or worrying about the future. Perhaps you tend to be a people pleaser who prioritizes the needs of others but not your own well-being. Maybe you get caught up in the "not good enough" story that prevents you from reaching your potential. Or you're a perfectionist who struggles when life circumstances fall out of your control. You wish life was easier, more peaceful, more full of joy. You deserve that life and, together, we will uncover and overcome the roadblocks that are standing in your way, while developing new skills to cope with life's stressors.

My specialty is trauma. I love to journey with people to help them learn how to live free and full lives. Life is filled with many anxieties, trials, traumas and obstacles which can create patterns that hinder us from thriving. When we experience trauma, our brain and body create adaptive or maladaptive patterns to cope with trauma. My goal is to partner with my clients to identify the problems, create effective goals and increase healthy cognitive, emotional and behavioral skills in order to decrease symptoms and develop healthy coping tools. I provide Christian counseling to those seeking support from a faith based perspective.

It goes without saying that relationships are tough. You just didn't think it would get this tough. Things have changed since the kids came along. You thought once they got older and things would settled down, you'd get back to the two of you but that hasn't happened. And the conflict has gotten worse. You can't even remember what the conflict was about to begin with but it's never, ever resolved. And the disconnection you feel as a result of the conflict is increasingly painful. Or you are so tired of the same conflict pattern again and again, you've stopped caring all together.

I was a professional airplane and helicopter pilot (civilian) before transitioning to a career as a therapist. I flew and worked with many veterans and learned about their struggles after deployment and separating from the military. Some of these challenges were reuniting with family, feelings of isolation, loss of purpose and meaning and moral injury. I also learned about veterans’ resilience as they faced these challenges. Working as a team, I can help navigate your transition to civilian life by improving your ability to cope with difficult emotions and thoughts using various types of therapy tailored for you and your goals.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
