My ideal population consists of adults with a mental health diagnosis of anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance use disorder, and other increasingly complex diagnoses. However, I am also devoted to assisting those seeking help without a defined diagnosis and who are beginning therapy without a clear vision of treatment needs. I have extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults due to my background as an emotional support teacher, behavior specialist, and collegiate coach. I have been helping others as a psychotherapist for 15 years and have worked in a variety of settings (outpatient, community clinics, halfway houses, group homes, day treatment programs). My approach is a wholistic one, with the belief that every person is looking for greater body, mind and soul connectedness and balance. My educational background is in behavioral neuroscience, health psychology, and counseling. I have helped people overcome issues with, but not limited to, relationship conflict, anxiety, compulsive and addictive behaviors (sex, drug & alcohol, food, gambling), spiritual issues, and adjustment disorders.

As a licensed psychologist, I have had extensive experience assisting different types of people confronting numerous issues. I understand the process of personal growth and know that people possess a remarkable ability to change. Since a sound therapeutic relationship is essential for success, clients must experience safety and trust. Therefore, I use an integrative approach which is engaged, collaborative and individualizes treatment for each client. In 30 years as a therapist I have worked with individuals as young as 12 and as old as 85; with families and couples of every background and socio economic group. I have worked with patients dealing with a range of problems from the profoundly tragic to the mundane. I have learned that regardless of life's circumstances everyone has the capacity and resources within themselves to live life more fully. Chris has been specifically engaged in the profession of counseling for the past 20 years and he holds both an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) and an LMFT (Licensed Marriage & Family Counselor) in Pennsylvania. His practice is part time and focused on development in three main areas- personal, relational, familial. Developmental counseling/ coaching is tailored to the client's specific needs, goals, and desires and requires commitment and effort from the client and Chris in order for goals to be achieved.
