I specialize in counselling for the LGBTQ+ community, neurodivergent people, and those with BPD - often self-identified oddballs, weirdos, and outsiders with big feelings. I love working with highly sensitive people; those who have been told they are "too much" and experience the world with intensity. Many of my clients struggle with feeling empty, numb, and disconnected one minute, and in excruciating emotional pain the next, as if they're on a rollercoaster that they can't get off and no one around them understands. It can be incredibly isolating, leaving them feeling disconnected from community and struggling in relationships.
BPDers and neurodivergent people often struggle with messages saying that they don't fit within their environments, that they are a burden, or that their emotions are too frequent and too intense. I work from the perspective that neurodivergent people process information and emotions differently, and I adapt my approach to therapy to meet those needs.
Although it may not feel like it, your intense experience of your emotions can be transformed from a painful experience into skills to help you thrive in community and in relationships. I want to start working with you to map out your inner world so we can get there together. Reaching out is the first step to getting off the roller coaster.
