I have a passion for working with people who experience adverse and stressful life events that make it difficult to reach their potential or maintain a good quality of life. The people I work with are also often wanting help with difficulties associated with post-traumatic stress, complex traumas, low mood, anxiety, managing emotions and stress, and in relationship and life patterns. This is in line with my other work within a national service at the renowned Maudsley Hospital. I specialise in supporting people who have experienced stressors (e.g. discrimination, prejudices) related to aspects of minoritised identity (e.g. LGBTQ+).
I offer a compassionate, warm, and non-judgemental space to discuss issues and difficulties. I offer therapy from a number of approaches including dialectical behaviour therapy (sfDBT accredited), schema therapy (ISST certified), cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness, trauma-informed therapies, and LGBTQ+-affirmative/culturally-sensitive therapies.
I see the therapeutic relationship as a relationship between equals and thus am keen to work collaboratively with you to understand any potential difficulties, work out what therapeutic approaches and methods will be most effective, and decide together what route is best for you.
