I work using an Integrative, Humanistic approach with attention to both the mind and body.
Are you feeling a bit overwhelmed, anxious or uncertain? Do you feel unable to cope or have low self esteem? You may be facing new challenges and difficulties or perhaps you are stuck and don't know where to turn or what to do. Troubling times can leave us feeling hopeless, sad, and wondering what the point of it is. Therapy is a place for you to work through these things and find ways to feel better in yourself and hopeful for the future.

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor with a broad range of experience working with young people and adults. The approach I use allows me to move freely between modalities while adapting and bringing together relevant elements according to individual needs and requirements. I believe the essence of my role is the therapeutic relationship between the client and me, developing a trusting relationship within the counselling session is essential. I involve the use of empathy, non-judgment, and authenticity. This alongside confidentiality creates a safe environment for the client and I to work together.

As an integrative therapist I draw on various therapeutic models including the psychodynamic where we reflect on how early life experiences determine your relationships and behaviour in the present.

As an integrative counsellor experienced in working with adults, children and young people I offer you or your child a safe, therapeutic space to work on the issues bothering you including grief and loss, anxiety, depression, relationship problems, anger and feeling sad. I work with warmth and empathy and from a non-judgemental approach enabling you to reflect on your feelings and the changes you may want to make within the context of a strong therapeutic relationship.

I have come to counselling and psychotherapy as my second career after spending over 25 years in the corporate sector as part of the human resources function for global technology companies. My desire and ability to connect with people combined with a quest to find deeper meaning in my work led me to retrain and find my true vocation. I have navigated challenging life experiences and have grown and found peace through my own personal therapy. I’m versatile in my clinical approach, drawing from a rich theoretical foundation having trained as an Integrative Psychotherapist.

I work using an integrative model to help you unlock your own knowledge about yourself.
We all develop ways to protect ourselves, even when they don't serve us well. If you feel you want to create new ways of being to replace the armour that no longer serves you, we can make that journey together. If you feel that you're not living to your full potential or that you're never really heard, supported or understood, if anxiety is ever present, you don't need to be alone as we can explore all this together. If your mind is an endless cycle of thoughts keeping you awake at night, expressing your thoughts in a safe environment can bring them into the open for you to examine from a different perspective.

What is integrative therapy?
Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.
How does integrative therapy work?
Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behaviour patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.
How long does integrative therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.
How effective is integrative therapy?
There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
