You’ve been through so much. Life has thrown you curve balls, and it isn’t always fair. It’s been overwhelming to say the least. You are doing your upmost best to keep it together in a hectic world with work stress, complex relationships, and unhealed wounds. Working together, we can understand the source of your emotional pain, increase your self-awareness and understanding and help you learn to self-validate. My belief is that you have the tools and wisdom you need to heal, already within you; my role as a therapist is to help you access it.

Our assessment and therapy services are conducted by an experienced team of clinicians who joined Fleming Vigna Balmer after gaining many years of valuable experience in the public sector; for example, working in hospitals, universities, rehabilitation centres, social service agencies, and community-based clinics. As a team, we are able to offer a rich, experience-based range of clinical services. In addition, we are consulting psychologists to the pilot recruitment programmes of a number of airlines including Air Canada, Jazz Aviation LP, and Sky Regional Airlines. At Fleming Vigna Balmer services are provided in English, French, Italian, Vietnamese, and Afrikaans.

I use various therapeutic modalities, such as AEDP, DBT, and IFS, and focus on integrating an attachment lens and parts work throughout my sessions.
I believe that every human deserves to have their story seen, heard, and understood. This can be especially important in our busy world where it can be difficult to take the time to slow down and truly listen. Life can be complex and unpredictable, so I care about providing an inclusive, safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable sharing your journey with me. I believe that you are the expert of your own life, and it would be my deepest privilege to walk alongside you while we work together to overcome obstacles and navigate where you would like to go next.

I employ an Integrated approach, drawing from various schools of therapy, though focusing on mindfulness, somatic, polyvagal, IFS and AEDP as theoretical foundations.
Not every therapist is incredible working with every issue, at least I am not. I have found that helping people with Anxiety, Trauma, Anger /Conflict Management and Relationship stress (separation, conflict, social anxiety) are the areas where my Clients report the biggest impact and improvement. If you struggle with Anxiety, being stuck in hyper-vigilance, if you have an anxious or avoidant attachment style, I hope that our work together could provide you with the Tools and Skills to see real change in your day to day life.

My approach centres on AEDP, which uses attachment theory and the brain’s capacity to change in order to strengthen your internal sense of when things feel “right”.
Feeling secure within ourselves is our birthright, but it’s often not what our experience tells us. Perhaps you find it difficult to trust others, or connecting in a meaningful, consistent way. You might be easily anxious, self-doubting and ruminating, frequently wondering how you’re being perceived. Or you find yourself distant, closed off, but craving safe connection. As a therapist for the past 9 years, I collaborate with reflective adults as they teach their nervous system new ways to feel embodied safety, so they can thrive with greater assurance, confidence and authenticity.

Such modalities include Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and individuals, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP).
My clients are just like you - to the outsider they appear like they have it all together. But on the inside something feels stuck, or at least worth exploring. I believe we are all trying our best to navigate the journey of life with the only strategies we know. Sometimes those ways work well for us, and other times they don’t. I am passionate about issues surrounding parenting, life transitions, emotional intelligence, vocation and purpose, and coping mechanisms. I particularly enjoy being a listening ear for fellow dads who try everyday to be the best dad they can be.

Recovery from pain is possible. Let's start together from understanding YOUR pain and creating a path to wellness that is unique for YOU. I am fascinated by the brain and body connection and the immense possibilities that arise when we open ourselves to learning and understanding how various psychoneurobiological mechanisms work, how our environments and circumstances have shaped us and continue to do so, and how we can harness the power of that understanding towards change. Studies indicate that many chronic pain conditions are often not the result of structural causes, but of psychoneurobiological processes that can be reversed.

You are "whole," not broken, though you may feel otherwise. You are an agent of change, and have the power to make a difference, in your own life and others. You know yourself best, and have resources within you that can be brought forth. You are perfectly imperfect. Early life experiences have shaped us, giving us resources and coping strategies to survive. Sometimes we find that later in life, these strategies no longer work for us, and we may need assistance to find different alternatives. As we become aware of ourselves, we can also become aware of where we can make changes.

Every single person will need compassionate support, personalized guidance and wisdom, at some point in their lives. If you have a history of trauma, a painful childhood, or have suffered from anxiety/depression for a long time, then this is even more true of you. Emotions and thoughts can be confusing and even hurtful to yourself and others. Some mental states are so complex, that seem to be layer upon layer of suffering. Life can be a rollercoaster and healthy stable relationships appear to be too much work! Imagine not to be defined by your history or struggles. Imagine being able to tap into joy and inner strength at any time!
