These tender, practical and evidence-based services are designed to help you heal your heart, feel confident & worthy, nurture connection, explore meaning and purpose, navigate the identity reconstruction and existential life transition from potential mother to being at peace & thriving as a childless-not-by-choice woman.
It’s an honour to meet you. I’m sorry for the difficult circumstances and heartbreak that may have led you here. I work with women who had hoped to be mothers and it didn't happen. My hope is you can experience the love, care and support you need to heal your heart and live well. This is offered, with the deep, heart-felt knowing, that comes from being an involuntarily childless woman too. My personal story includes deeply desiring motherhood, 10 years trying to conceive (including IVF), leaving the clinic and struggling to find appropriate support. It was devastating, and I knew there must be other women just like me.

Whether you’d like to focus on specific concerns, you are wanting to develop a deeper understanding of yourself, or explore the more existential questions of your life and experiences, together we will collaborate on ways to reach your goals.
I am an integrative arts psychotherapist, companioning adults from diverse backgrounds and life stages, in coming home to themselves for healing, growth, self-development and change. Some common themes we tend to are depression, self-esteem and confidence, life transitions, grief, dreams and nightmares, and spiritual and existential concerns. Drawing from multiple modalities, I practice with a blend of traditional and contemporary Talk Therapy, Arts Therapy and Dreamwork, with creative and experiential approaches, through a psycho-spiritual lens. I am guided by my clients and their present moment experiences.

Perception is everything. Every event, situation and even trauma are coloured/perceived according to our emotional experiences. Although we cannot change past experiences we can change our perception and interpretation of them...and that is what leads us on the road t recovery. Imagine a vehicle: car, bike any sort of vehicle and imagine yourself turning ever so slightly the direction of its wheel, your vehicle goes in a totally different direction, the same goes for the mind...See you there...

Are you feeling anxious, depressed or just cannot make sense of things. Everyone can have therapy at anytime in life. Talking to someone who listens, remembers your history, travels with you on your journey can be rewarding and help with anxiety, depression and feelings of being alone. I can help you make sense of your life, meaning and troubling thoughts. I am also an experienced couples therapist having supported couples on their journeys from courting to commitment. I help people make sense of where they have come to, going to and how they are going to get there even when the future is uncertain.

Hello, I'm a fully trained counselling psychotherapist and I offer private individual therapy on an ongoing or short-term basis. I am trained in the Psychodynamic method and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and use an integration of these ideas to best help you. It can be difficult to find a space to reflect and I offer a secure, non-judgemental, confidential environment, where together we can find that space for you. I am very patient and understand that taking that first step towards counselling, and beginning to make changes can be very difficult and I'll do my very best to support you. PACFA, BACP & ACTO Memberships.

People that come to me for support and with whom I have built a rich therapeutic relationship tend to be self-reflective and imaginative, and with a wish to connect with the world and others whilst finding themselves stuck on their way to reach this, at times since events long ago.

Have you ever tried to change and felt like your brain is fighting you every step of the way? Perhaps your brain has been caught in a loop of anxiety, trauma response, anger or flatlining in depression? Neuroscientists estimate that 90% of our decisions and behaviours are subconscious and that's why it's so hard to consciously change. The good news is that there is hope. The latest neuroscience shows ways to unhook our subconscious patterns from the past, behaviours and thoughts. Our brains weren't evolved to deal with the stressors of the modern world, but we can teach the brain the cues of safety to open up the path of healing.

You have come here with a concern you want some help with. Understanding that concern, its impact on your life, and its place within the story of your life is an integral part of the therapy process. My specialty clinical interests include adult ADHD assessment and treatment, anxiety, depression, stress management, and helping clients navigate significant life changes. I am also trained in clinical hypnotherapy which I utilise in the management of chronic pain conditions such as endometriosis, fibro neuralgia and IBS.

Existential Counsellors

How does existential therapy work?

Existential therapy focuses on a patient’s inner experiences. The therapist tries to help the individual comprehend and alleviate symptoms by exploring their interior life. By confronting negative disquiet and emotions, the individual will hopefully become more open to finding meaning and purpose. This therapy can be administered to individuals or groups.

Is existential therapy evidence-based?

Existential therapy is an evidence-based practice. Research has determined that existential therapy can lead to significant improvement in the mental health of patients, and for some people it can be just as effective as cognitive behavioural therapy. The benefits of existential therapy are enduring, even long after treatment has ended.

How long does existential therapy last?

The goal of existential therapy is to understand a person’s internal experiences, which may sound like a lengthy process, but it does not have to be so in-depth. However, sessions are not short-term, and therapy can continue for months or up to a year. And because patients learn the theory behind existential therapy during treatment, they can also practice its tenets throughout life after therapy sessions have been completed.

Is existential therapy effective?

According to research, many patients find success with existential therapy. Researchers note that the therapy is particularly useful in improving feelings of isolation, feelings of purposelessness, as well as conditions such as anxiety and depression. Improvements in problem areas can persist even after the end of existential therapy, as individuals can continue working on themselves by using the tools they’ve developed during treatment.
