Fully-certified since 2019, I’ve been successfully counselling clients nationally to facilitate their self-growth. If you are feeling overwhelmed by life’s demands, my services aim to introduce clarity and self-motivation. I also provide therapeutic support to those who have or are currently experiencing stress, anxiety, depression and other debilitating mental health conditions that impact on everyday life.
Hi, my name is Nadia. I’m a registered counsellor, group facilitator, mediator and the mother of five in a blended family. I specialise in perinatal mental health, from pregnancy anxiety, miscarriage and infant loss, processing birth trauma, to postnatal depression, relationship problems when children arrive, and the challenges of blended families. I also have a special interest in supporting parents of gender diverse or gender questioning children of all ages.
As a creative person, I understand the deep desire that people have to be authentic, expressive, and craft a unique life that feels nourishing and joyful. I believe a large part of therapeutic work is un-learning the things we’ve been told we “should” be, letting go of the need for perfection, and building a relationship with the innate worthiness we already have. By combining counselling, creativity, mindfulness, and meditation, I hope to guide people towards a place of deep self-compassion and self-love. I have founded my practice, Creative Roots Wellness, to serve those in the Hobart community. www.creativerootswellness.com
People who ideally reach out and connect with me are womxn of any age, with difficulties in relationship, family, career, community and identity. These folk are usually already highly reflective and have a readiness and willingness to work on issues affecting and surrounding them. People may have realised, or would like to further validate, that they are worthy of investing in this personal development and time. Therapy is a form of self-care, self-love and self-investment.
I enjoy working with individuals of any age who may find seeking help difficult, and who are concerned that nobody will understand the struggles they face. I can help to alleviate feelings of shame and self-criticism, and provide gentle support to help clients develop greater strength to recover from and overcome obstacles that inhibit the ability to thrive and find contentment. When working with children I provide highly non-directive, play-based support, with an aim to develop their abilities for self-compassion and enable them to securely and effectively navigate the many trials that life inevitably presents over time.
I am a Clinical Psychologist based in Melbourne with over 15 years of clinical practice experience working with adults across a variety of settings. My aim is to provide therapy tailored for the unique needs of each and every client and I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is key towards a successful outcome. I am passionate about enhancing mental health, no matter what stage of life or challenge one might find themselves in. I have a strong interest in helping women and couples through their IVF journey, providing support with unexplained infertility, as well as support patients and their families going through cancer.
Neurological conditions affect both the patient and their family. I offer my services to both. Neurological disorders are doubtless among the most frightening illnesses that human beings face. Knowledge is sometimes the only power there is against the vagaries of these ailments. That is where counselling from a specialist psychotherapist comes in. I will make an assessment of the patient’s condition and take a medical history. I will also work with the patient’s doctor to coordinate the psychotherapy with medical treatment. I offer sessions by Phone, Skype, FaceTime and ZOOM. Call me and let’s discuss possible therapeutic options.
I am passionate about working with you to resolve your issues quickly and effectively with over 20 years practice using Human Givens therapy. I am experienced in working with people who have had PTSD, phobias, anxiety, compulsive disorders, family dynamics, addictions (mainly smoking and alcohol) and depression. Human Givens therapy is effective because it is based on the psychology and neurobiology about how people really function as well as International research that has established which counselling techniques are most effective. I also provide Professional Supervision for Social Workers, Counsellors and Community Workers.

I work with anxiety disorders, depression, addictions, trauma, relationships and sexuality. I self-identify as a gay man and enjoy working with the LGBTQ+ community. I only work by Telehealth. My approach to therapy is mainly based on a model called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which focuses on learning to let go of unhelpful thoughts, being present with difficult emotions and connecting to your values; the things that really matter to you.
Many people I work with suffer from various forms of anxiety, including obsessive thoughts, social anxiety, as well as issues with body image, relationships, and life transitions. Generally, those I work with are feeling “stuck” and are at a point where they long for or are desperate for relief. I help people regain a deeper connection with themselves and others and support them in moving forward to experience more peace and contentment in their life. I welcome neuro-diversity, and individuals who feel they navigate life a bit differently than others!
Our services include psychological counselling and assessment, clinical supervision, organisational and Allied Health practice consultation, training programmes, and research and evaluation consulting.
