I specialize in anxiety, self esteem, and women's issues related to people-pleasing.
High-achieving anxious women look put together on the outside but often suffer with worry and self-doubt on the inside. Even though you look like you have it all figured out and there's nothing obviously 'wrong' with you, you're spiraling with worried thoughts about your relationships and fear of losing people important to you. People-pleasing is so much easier than confronting others but the resentment is building up quickly. You practice ways to communicate your needs but fail to follow through because of fear. I help anxious women struggling with people-pleasing and setting healthy boundaries with less guilt, shame, and fear.

I have experience working with anxiety, codependency, self-esteem, cultural stress, racial identity, life coaching, and women's issues.
Life is filled with transitions, ups, downs, and uncertainties. If you are you're ready to take the steps toward lasting change. I'm here to help. I help people who are ready to do the work. This takes consistency, open mindedness, deep honesty, and accountability. My special interests are sexual health, intimacy, gender identity, LGBTQ+, relationship issues, stress management, depression, women's issues, trauma, substance abuse, gender identity, and low sexual desire.
My path into mental health was inspired by my desire to help others achieve a life of fulfillment and balance. I learned that sexuality, gender identity, self expression and relationship intelligence are importance concepts when identifying individual life satisfaction. These topics can often times be taboo to discuss in our society, leading to feelings of guilt/shame, increased isolation and loneliness. My goal is to normalize these conversations and therapy.

“Tell me what you fear and I will tell you what has happened to you.” - D.W. Winnicott. A guiding principle of my therapy is linking the suffering of today to the root of why it is so painful. My interest and expertise has focused on: 1) Perinatal Mental Health (pregnancy, loss, infertility, and postpartum), 2) Couples Work (particularly grappling with issues of monogamy), and 3) Long-term Individual Psychotherapy (struggles with relationships, creativity, and being in touch with your true self). I believe in being Good Enough rather than striving to be the perfect (partner, parent, person).

Women's Issues Therapists
How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can women prepare for therapy?
Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.
How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?
As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.
How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?
Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
