I practice from a somatic, trauma informed perspective with EMDR, parts work, and Somatic Experiencing.
Currently only accepting clients for extended session/intensive trauma work. As a therapist, I believe everyone is capable of fulfilling their true authentic self and realizing their maximum potential. The therapeutic relationship can serve as a catalyst for this change and my role as a therapist is to partner with you on this journey and to offer support and guidance. My experience is in working with adults with complex trauma. I believe the core condition of being human is forming relationships and we experience dysfunction and unhappiness when we experience disconnection.

I use EMDR, Progressive Counting, Trauma Systems Therapy, as well as Sandtray & Play therapy interventions.
Clients work with me to find the person hidden behind the protective walls they have built up to feel safe. They need, and want, to feel close to family and friends again but are scared it might not work out in their favor. Their goals are often to love themselves, speak up for themselves, and know they are capable no matter how hard life may be in this season. My clients want to let the past be the past and have their future go the way they've envisioned for so long.

Let's change your life! EMDR and Brainspotting are short term, very effective power therapies that can be done effectively over HIPAA compliant telehealth from the comfort of your own home.
Do you have past trauma that you still carry around despite your best efforts to cope? This trauma could be a single event, years of smaller incidents, a negative self- statement that's been with you forever, or a loss of some kind. Sometimes talk therapy doesn't actually solve the core issue and you continue to have overwhelming feelings when it comes up for you. I use a combination of EMDR and Brainspotting to work on these core issues. This can be done as a stand-alone therapy or as an adjunct to talk therapy.

I am EMDR trained but also utilize other modalities to help individuals meet their desired goals.
Please see my website for the most up-to-date information. I utilize strengths-based therapies to work with my clients to create customized sessions that build coping skills and replace maladaptive behaviors. I am mindful of the “person-in-environment” perspective, which acknowledges that each client and situation is different and shaped by environmental context. I like to meet the client where they are mentally and emotionally and work from that spot, understanding that growth is not always a linear process.

I provide an integrative approach using collaborative, relational, and strength-based modalities- psychodynamic, Buddhist/transpersonal & positive psychology, expressive arts therapy, EMDR, and mind/body practices.
Consider we create belief systems around experience... past, present or future. At best, beliefs are flexible, forgiving, and optimistic, and we feel mostly in sync with humanity. Sometimes, perhaps due to old patterns of functional behavior, traumatic memories/events, or just familiarity, beliefs and attachments may interfere with growth and healing, and become the root of suffering. If this is true for you, together we'll uncover paths to more adaptive, compassionate self-narratives, while learning ways to hold experience to increase your life's meaning.

I have completed basic EMDR training and love watching the changes this modality can bring.
Being a human comes with so many challenges including various types of loss, change, transitions, interactions... and navigating these can be no small feat. Our conversations will be guided by your concerns and we will explore how you desire change or help managing what you are finding difficult. I find value in working with mindfulness and somatic based practices to help you through life transitions, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, grief, or stressful times in your life. The body holds so much on a subconscious level, and opening to listen & feel what the body wants you to know can be the key to healing.

EMDR Therapists

Who is EMDR for?

EMDR was initially developed as a treatment for individuals with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), for whom memories of a deeply distressing experience can be inadvertently triggered by random everyday events. The procedure has since been applied in the treatment of many other conditions. For example, it is used by some therapists to treat anxiety disorders including panic and phobias, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and some personality disorders. It is suitable for adolescents and adults.

Why do people need EMDR?

People need EMDR as a way to manage distressing memories that in some way hamper the ability to function in the present. The procedure is believed to target the way memories are stored in the brain. Evidence indicates that past disturbing experiences cause ongoing distress because they were not adequately processed, and when such memories are triggered in the present, they are accompanied by all the emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations as the initial experience.

What problems does EMDR treat?

First and foremost, EMDR is intended as a treatment for PTSD, to defuse distressing memories that intrude on and impair everyday functioning. It is also often used to help those who are subject to panic attacks, phobias, and other forms of anxiety. In addition, EMDR has been used to treat individuals with depression, eating disorders, and personality disorders.

What happens in EMDR therapy?

First the therapist takes an individual’s history, and then the therapist and client decide which distressing experience(s) will be the target(s) of the exercise, delivered via a side-to-side visual stimulus requiring lateral eye movements. The client will be asked to activate thoughts, feelings, and any body sensations related to the troubling experience. The eye movements are said to reduce the emotional charge of the memory, so that the experience can then be safely discussed with the therapist and digested, minimizing its ability to trigger anxiety.
