I specialize in working with couples, teens, and individuals who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, issues with body image, and a variety of other mental health challenges through a systemic lens.
We are a part of communities, families, cultures, and organizations that shape who we are, how we think, and how we react to the world around us. Understanding the impact of the systems we’re a part of can help us understand why we do what we do, providing important information that can help us be kinder to ourselves while supporting our goals.

I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating relationship strain, emotional overwhelm, or major life shifts.
You might be feeling disconnected from someone you love—or from yourself. Maybe you're stuck in patterns that leave you exhausted, anxious, or uncertain about the future. My clients often carry quiet emotional burdens and are longing for clarity, connection, or simply a place to feel seen. They don’t just want tools; they want relief, understanding, and hope that things can feel different. Therapy becomes a space where they can finally exhale and begin to make sense of it all.

Do you have that voice in the back of your mind that constantly tells you how awful you are, the one that is relentless and won’t go away? Sometimes in life we feel overwhelmed, disconnected, and unable to take care of our needs. We take this out on food, our bodies, and those we love. It can be difficult to face things, even if we want to. Despite our best efforts we find ourselves feeling defeated and worry we are failing. This might be because you have difficult things in your life that are keeping you from being able to make the changes you desire. Seeking counseling is a brave step in reconnecting with yourself and your life.

You laughed at the right moment. You answered the email. You held it together through the meeting and the dinner and the goodnight. Then you sat in the car alone and felt the inside of you start to roar. The looping thoughts. The replay of a comment from three weeks ago. The wave of reaction you didn't see coming, aimed at someone who didn't deserve it. You tell yourself you should be past this by now. You tell yourself you'll handle it better tomorrow. And still, the same memories surface. The same flare. The same quiet detachment from the version of yourself you actually want to be.

I work with nearly all presenting concerns but find particular joy in serving those with histories of adverse experiences, relationship and family of origin concerns, ADHD/ASD, and anxiety. I especially enjoy working with individuals from collectivistic cultures, various faith contexts, and high-responsibility roles such as parents/caregivers, first responders, and military personnel. Across all contexts, my goal is to create a space where patients feel safe enough to explore what’s hard and challenged enough to grow into more grounded, connected, and intentional versions of themselves.

I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working toward full licensure.
Hi, I’m Maeve! I am passionate about helping neurodivergent and queer folks embrace their uniqueness and find ways to create a meaningful life within a society not built for them. Many of my clients come to me after deeply harmful experiences with past therapists who invalidated their very way-of-being. Do you relate? I would love to be a safe person you can unmask with. I won't judge you for not being "normal", in fact I might even convince you that your neurodivergent and/or queer traits are what make you wonderful! Even if all you do is read this bio, please know that you are perfect the way you are :)

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of how to move forward, you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with are navigating anxiety, emotional exhaustion, family stress, or a season of change that feels heavier than expected. They’re often doing their best to hold everything together while quietly wishing for a place to finally slow down and be heard.

Marriage Counseling Therapists
How does marriage counseling work?
Marriage counseling works by teaching couples concrete skills to communicate with one another and solve disagreements in healthy ways. A trained mental health professional works with both members of a couple to explore difficulties the couple may be having and helps them develop skills to address these matters. Couples who don’t have any difficulties but want to prepare for marriage may develop skills for the future.
How long does marriage counseling typically last?
Marriage counseling is a short-term form of therapy; the process may last between four and eight sessions. Other forms of relationship guidance from mental health professionals, such as couples therapy, are longer lasting, may focus on the past rather than just the present, and are tailored to the individual couple and their emotions, history, and patterns in the relationship. Couples therapy often lasts for 12 weeks or longer.
Is marriage counseling effective?
Marriage counseling helps many couples develop relationship skills that may not have been acquired or tested in a relationship; partners may be better able to communicate and address conflict following counseling. However, there are many different forms of marriage counseling, and this form of counseling does not have as strong an evidence base as other modalities such as couples therapy.
Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Yes, marriage counseling can still be effective if one partner convinces the other to engage in the process. Of course, whether counseling is effective depends on the couple’s commitment to work on their relationship; however, the short-term, skills-based nature of marriage counseling makes it a relatively easy “ask” of a partner, and the hesitant individual may see its value once counseling begins.
