About 10 years ago I read a book about Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
Teens: I didn’t start working with teens, it sort of happened organically. Now, several years later, I just had the mother of one of my clients tell me she waited several months to get her kid into “The Teen Whisperer”. I had to laugh as that was the first time I had heard that. My wife and I have a blended family with 8 kids. I LOVE working with teens and helping them achieve their ultimate potential. Teens are open to new ideas, new ways of thinking, and they are very curious. Let me help your teen get on the right track! I work with teens with depression, anxiety, struggling with grades and social challenges.

I am certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an approach that helps couples and families break negative patterns, explore emotions, and develop lasting closeness.
I specialize in all kinds of relationships, including your relationship with yourself. I take pride in truly understanding my clients. I offer a warm, genuine, and non-judgmental space for growth. I especially enjoy working with withdrawn men who want to be more expressive with their partners but feel confused about how to do that or what it means. I also enjoy working with adult children and their parents to help them create a secure bond. A big part of what I do is based on attachment theory, fostering relationships that feel safe and connected.

It is rare for individuals to emerge from childhood without experiencing any form of trauma. Even well-meaning parents can pass it down. Everyone deserves to have their experiences heard and understood. My passion involves assisting people to overcome childhood traumas, attain inner peace, and develop healthy adult relationships to decrease trauma in families. I have found that Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) are effective modalities.

I am also trained in EFT which helps couples gain secure attachments, rely on each other in times of need, and have vulnerable conversations.
What if the pain and fear you’re feeling right now could transform into resilience and empowerment? How would your life look if you had the support and tools to navigate through this trauma and emerge stronger on the other side? My passion is to bring hope and healing to each client through a non-judgmental, empathic approach with sensitivity and care. I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly and honestly. My goal is to make you feel heard and validated, allowing you to share even your most vulnerable moments without fear of judgment.

Relationships are often difficult to navigate. EFT is a model of therapy that can facilitate a healthier and stronger connection in relationships. My goal is to offer a safe environment for clients to address challenges in life, such as problems in relationships, grief and loss, behavioral problems and child behavioral problems, and overcoming low self-esteem. I love helping people find what works for them. My approach is warm and genuine. I believe that people can overcome anything if they have the right tools. My aim is to help you find those tools and use them.

I am extremely passionate about helping individuals gain relief from the struggles they may be facing by empowering them to utilize coping skills they can learn in session. As a therapist, I utilize a very compassionate, client-centered approach that allows my clients to reach their full potential and function well within their circumstances. My goal as a therapist is to create a space where my clients feel safe to process all of their experiences and work through the difficult emotions that may accompany those experiences. The opportunity that I have to walk through my client’s pain with them while instilling hope and confidence.

Addiction and its accompanying issues make life a struggle for both the client and for those who love them. Those in active addiction intuitively know there is a gap between the life they're demonstrating and the possibilities their potential affords - if they could only get out of their own way. My methods promote profound fundamental change: the shedding of self-destructive attributes, the definition of a clear, compelling vision for the future, and the tools clients need to implement strategies that will enable them to become the best possible version of themselves.

Looking for someone to help put the hope back into your life? As a therapist, I enjoy working through those dark pieces we each have within ourselves and teaching others to lean into the discomfort without all the guilt and shame. I've lived a life that has forced me to befriend my own dark places, and walk with them in ways that are gifts, not burdens. I'd be honored to help you do the same. I myself am in recovery so I know how it feels to take the first step in healing. Even though it is hard, the reward is worth it.

Lesbian and gay people are faced every day with difficult intersections between sexual diversity; trauma; religion, faith and spirituality; conflicting cultural and relational demands; and sometimes issues of race. Stress, hypervigilance, shame, anxiety, depression and mental confusion are to us like water is to the fish. But we have an amazing ability to heal, grow, and thrive when given the right support.

My approach to therapy is a collaboration with my clients. Adverse experiences and trauma can manifest differently in each individual's body. Our body's hold on to the trauma and you can experience physical sensations and emotional dysregulation without knowing why. I believe that a holistic approach to therapy can help you release the energy stuck in the body. We will work to recognize your triggers and heal the underlying cause. Healing from emotional wounds is within reach.
