All sessions will be a video call. My goal is to help my clients restore balance and/or overcome obstacles in their life. I have over 15 years of clinical experience. The issues I work most often with are depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, communication skills and relationship problems, trauma and PTSD. For attorneys, courts, and individuals involved with legal matters, I provide forensic services to include consultation, evaluations for court, drug assessments, sexual offense recidivism, and jury selection. I have also aided courts with child custody cases, home evaluations, and adoptions. I also provide psychological testing for private clients.

We provide a full spectrum of services for mental health concerns in order to be of service to the community. We are goal/plan oriented to assist patients in overcoming obstacles in their lives. We very much provide an eclectic approach that is often inclusive of a variety of theories/treatments in order to meet the needs of each patient .

I have a passion for working with clients across the developmental spectrum, typically from ages 6 to 30. I am especially interested in working with concerns related to self-esteem/self-worth, identity development, and managing important relationships. My specialty population is the LGBTQ+ community, whether the concerns are specific or unrelated to that identity. I also love working with kids, teens, and their families, especially around improving familial relationships. This may relate to behavioral concerns, academic concerns, life adjustment, and more.

Reaching out for help can be terrifying especially when we're hurting. Throughout the past decade I've worked with University of Houston's Graduate College of Social Work, Menninger Clinic, The Council on Recovery and Montrose Center. I have specific interest in working with men and couples who are looking to deepen intimacy within themselves and in their relationships. As an educator and clinical supervisor, I offer guidance to students as they establish and fine-tune their love for this work. I commit myself to co-creating a therapeutic environment where safety and growth are of top priority. We are in this together.

Each person is unique, but life can present us moments that are not particular to anyone. For example thoughts like: "I'm scared to be alone", "I'm afraid that something bad could happen", "I can't deal with this situation", "I feel like everybody judges me in a negative way or no one understands me", "I'm a failure", "a disappointment or not worth it!". You may have tried hard to handle these thoughts and feelings on your own but now you feel tired, frustrated and running out of options. It's always difficult to take the first step in requesting the help to get tools that you need to face these life challenges!

I am a mental health professional with experience working in various settings; to include: residential addiction, correctional, community, and school based agencies. Those experiences have been rewarding in the opportunities they have provided for me to facilitate and witness client growth. My view of the therapeutic relationship is that of a process in which the client and the therapist build a therapeutic alliance to: explore and identify areas for improvement, develop goals, and work together realizing those goals and optimizing quality of life.

It is my belief that people experience both highs and lows in life. I believe that each person has the ability to become aware and capable of making informed decisions and live a meaningful life. By bringing about a level of awareness each individual can learn to self regulate and be prosperous in life. It is through my experience as a counselor in multiple settings that I have developed this belief.
