All appointments are telehealth. I have a passion for assisting others in their journey of healing from within. The cornerstone of my practice is the belief that actual connection with a real human being will go further than any single psychological theory. My degree is in clinical psychology with an emphasis in applied existentialism, which really just means applied humanity. I am a pragmatist and find mental and emotional health is contingent on meeting everyone where they are, rather than where anyone thinks they "should" be. I take pride in my honesty, compassion, and faith in humanity's ability to overcome. I truly love helping people through hard times, and look forward to helping you however I can.

Brittney Daftuar is a Fully Licensed Clinical Master Social Worker with a Level II endorsement in Infant Mental Health. She received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy and her Master of Social Work degree from Wayne State University. She specializes in working with adults and children experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, and behavioral issues. She prides herself in building relationships with her clients to meet their goals.

Early in life we learn to disconnect from our bodies and emotions in order to survive and adapt to the environment. Overtime, this manifests as patterns of behavior and self-rejection that though were once adaptive, now only keep us stuck. These patterns typically manifest as anxiety, depression, self-hatred, toxic shame, addictions, obsessions, compulsions, codependency and relationship problems. I work experientially in the moment to get to the root of what is getting in the way of desired experiences on an identity level. Many clients describe this process as a gradual “coming home” or reconnection to their authentic self.

Mary works with individuals and couples to address attachment and emotional enmeshment, performance anxiety, moral injury and religious trauma, personality dynamics, and systems that cause people to feel stuck in life and relationships. Using an eclectic, psychodynamic approach to postmodern and constructivist theories, clients can expect to find meaning in problem solving and strengthen interpersonal relationships outside of therapy. In doing so, Mary integrates humor and everyday language in evidence-based therapies to educate clients along the way.

I specialize in working with kids and families who are experiencing difficulties regulating emotions, ADHD/living with someone who has ADHD, Autism, school refusal, difficulty sleeping and much more. My background in education offers me a wealth of knowledge that I can use to help you navigate the school system, IEPs and ARD meetings.
