I use Emotionally Focused Therapy ( EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-focused approaches including EMDR, CPT, and TF-CBT.
I'm Ashley! I believe counseling should be tailored to the person sitting across from me, not a one-size-fits-all approach. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and hold a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision (CES). My experience includes working with trauma across life, military, veteran, first responders, clients in the perinatal period, and those seeking support in their relationships. Much of my work focuses on the ways our experiences shape how we relate to ourselves and others. Together we can explore patterns that no longer serve you, strengthen important relationships, and create a meaningful path forward.

The highly sensitive person (HSP) faces unique problems. Even if (like many) you have a sense you were born to help others, their emotions wear you out, depleting your energy. Most of your emotional life may be coping with others' unresolved emotions you've been carrying around, which do little but drain you. Seeking to rid yourself of those emotions, you have developed any of a range of emotional or psychological problems, including anxiety, depression, a personality disorder, or compulsive emotional numbing behavior (like perfectionism, people pleasing, overeating, substance use, or compulsive sexual behavior).

I believe that healing begins when people feel truly seen, heard, and understood. My goal is to create a space where you don't have to have all the answers or pretend everything is okay you can simply show up as you are.
My path to becoming a therapist began with a passion for helping others. I earned my bachelor's degree in Education before completing my Master of Social Work at Baylor University and becoming a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My background in both education and clinical social work allows me to understand how life's experiences, relationships, and environments shape who we are while helping clients develop

I blend attachment-based, relational, and evidence-based approaches—including CBT, ACT, DBT, and Emotionally Focused Therapy—to support meaningful and lasting change.
You look like you have it together… but your mind doesn’t really turn off. You’re high-functioning, dependable, and usually the one others rely on, but underneath that, you feel anxious, over-responsible, and honestly pretty exhausted.
Maybe you've read the books, listened to the podcasts, and understand why you do what you do, but you're tired of just understanding it. You want to actually feel different. Together, we'll work to quiet the constant mental noise, loosen the grip of perfectionism, and help you feel like you can finally exhale instead of always being "on."

I am energetic, insightful, direct, inquisitive, and a dynamic clinician. My ideal client would be one that wants to explore opportunities for growth and who is motivated to dig deep into the therapeutic process. Clients who experience anxiety, life transitions, or trauma often need a safe place to process those challenges. This allows clients to get to the root of the issues and learn ways to move forward versus feeling stuck. It is important that clients understand that I can be direct, but I will always respect your unique needs and have a solid understanding that one size does not fit all when it comes to mental health.

Emotionally Focused Therapists
Who is emotionally focused therapy for?
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT) is for couples who are emotionally distressed, stuck in an unsatisfying relationship pattern or feeling deeply alienated. They may even believe the relationship is beyond repair. Very often, the partners display intense anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal in the relationship. In addition, EFT is helpful to couples and individuals who have difficulty expressing emotions and those who have trouble regulating emotions.
Why do people need emotionally focused therapy?
People need emotionally focused therapy because the need for others is built into the brain, but the pressures of daily life can erode feelings of love, and couples often do not have the skills to find their way back to the comfort of each other. Instead, they may be stuck in repetitive patterns of anger, fear, grief, loss of trust, or a sense of betrayal. Emotionally focused therapy regards such strong negative feelings as expressions of protest over the loss of connection and turns them into pathways of reconnection.
What happens in emotionally focused therapy?
Over the course of eight to 20 weekly sessions, couples de-escalate their negative emotional reactivity to one another so that they can listen to each other and be responsive to each other’s needs. Then the deep emotional and physical bond is restored, giving partners a sense of comfort and security, which they can use to solve whatever problems come their way. The therapist plays an active role, helping partners understand how anger and withdrawal are actually misguided cries for connection.
What problems does emotionally focused therapy treat?
EFT is designed to help couples stuck in dysfunctional relationship patterns regain closeness and rebuild their relationship. Typically, such couples experience considerable distress, with partners feeling alienated and distrustful of one another, not certain their relationship can survive. EFT is also helpful to individuals experiencing attachment-related fears of loss; it helps them learn to use their fears as a way of eliciting the closeness they desire.
