They assist clients in building different skills and use an integrative, holistic approach with interventions from solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, somatic experiencing, emotionally-focused therapy and mindfulness.
I believe there is no limit to human capacity. I create a safe and affirming space to cultivate an understanding of the deeper meaning our struggles unveil. With curiosity and compassion leading our work, I help clients recognize the effects of the larger societal and cultural environment that has shaped how we move through the world. I am passionate about the process of unlearning and learning. I’ll serve as a gentle companion on the path of your own unfolding. As a fellow imperfect human being, I am honored to do this work with you.

Somatic Breathwork Therapy allows a safe space of exploration from within your body.
I often work with clients of all ages who desire to determine how to FEEL better through other options, such as using their breath during a breathwork session or utilizing the Safe and Sound Protocol. Both modalities support clients with anxiousness, depression and post traumatic stress disorder, to name a few. The modalities offered start with the feelings first through breath and music, then we discover the why afterwards. Often, you will not need to speak too much, but rather simply trust your body and what it wants to express, release and be recognized, while I guide your through the recognition process in a safe space.

My philosophy towards therapy and, being a therapist, can be put this way.You can create positive change in your life. You can overcome difficult and even seemingly overwhelming obstacles. The first step is to believe that you are worthy of a better life no matter what the present situation tells you. The next step is to accept that, 'Life is a Journey'. I think there is incredible wisdom and hope in those words; a journey is on-going, and, life gives you opportunities to change as you choose! Sometimes we just need a little help figuring out how to start.

Therapy can often be described as a journey on a winding path. There are obstacles, detours, and difficult terrain but with each step you move towards understanding, peace, and contentment. I am passionate about empowering clients that struggle with anxiety, depression, addiction, grief/loss, life transitions, relationship issues, illness, and trauma/complex trauma forage a new path. By utilizing non-judgmental inquiry and keeping each individual client’s personal values in mind, I help my clients reconnect to their inner compass and move towards what they truly want.

Entering into counseling is the beginning of discovery and change. It's an important decision that deserves careful consideration. I've observed that most people want freedom from suffering and to live authentic, satisfying lives. Yet they may feel overwhelmed by the challenges of contemporary society while coping with life transitions, grief, relationships, self-esteem and identity issues, trauma, and spiritual crises. Where does one begin? A therapist can be an important guide in navigating the inner world of emotions while also building more effective skills for living in a dynamic, ever-shifting world.

Do you feel like you're living life on the outside, emotionally numb and weighed down by fragmented memories and unseen wounds? The journey has been hard—you’ve faced things no one should, and yet thriving still feels distant. Trusting your emotions or feeling present in your own body may be a daily challenge. You've tried to heal, but progress feels slow, and finding someone who truly understands isn’t easy. It’s time for a different approach—one that meets you where you are and helps you reconnect with yourself.

I feel that counseling is a path to wellness and positive change, in which the client is an active participant in the healing process. Counseling should not only address symptoms, but the whole person, mind, body and spirit.

Are you ready to break free of the stress and silent struggle within so you can feel happier, shine brighter, and live life to your fullest potential? Everyone faces challenges and has difficult times in their lives. A favorite author of mine, Brene Brown says: “We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to.” It may feel scary to reach out to someone new, but I assure you that I will provide a safe space where you will feel seen, heard, and supported.

How does somatic therapy work?

Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?

Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?

Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
