Areas of individual focus include coping with depression/anxiety, sleep issues, family or relationship struggles, addiction and recovery, life and career transitions, sexuality, mid-life issues, and emerging adults struggling with academics or early adulthood issues. In my work with couples I work on issues ranging from communication/conflict, intimacy, life transitions, rebuilding connection, family dynamics, and relational betrayals/infidelity. I draw from the Gottman’s work, Esther Perel’s work, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy among others.

My therapeutic approach is designed to help you gain awareness and understanding into whatever is troubling you and to assist you in developing the practical skills to handle these issues more effectively. I believe that within our problems lie the keys to further growth and development when they are unfolded with awareness. I specialize in providing emotion focused therapy for couples who are interested in working on issues related to communication, trust, infidelity, connection, and intimacy. I also work with individuals who are looking to heal their relationship with food, body image, stress, anxiety, substance use, depression, and manage responses to complex trauma. I work together with my clients toward more self-compassion, awareness, and understanding. These bring about lasting positive change. I treat a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, addictions, interpersonal issues (i.e. couples counseling), psycho-spiritual/religious conflicts and abuse, sexuality, and pragmatic life-coaching, to name a few. I have extensive experience working with the LGBT community, some "out," others not; some religious, others not. I use Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT) when indicated, coupled with mindfulness techniques. I also explore with my clients deeper-seated issues, including exploring our "shadows" and the roots of addiction and shame. I serve adolescents and adults.

People come to me usually for one of two reasons: (1) things are going well but they want to grow and evolve, (2) things are hard because of a past traumatic experience or a current situation, and healing and change is needed. Symptoms often include anxiety, depression, issues related to trauma, anger, grief and relationship issues. I work from a depth psychological perspective which means that I address the cause of symptoms as much as the symptoms themselves.

My clinical framework is rooted in attachment theory, which reiterates the delicate nature of the relationship between mother and baby. I am passionate about serving marginalized communities who have previously experienced harm within the mental health system as a result of institutionalized biases. Additionally, I specialize in working with folx transitioning into adulthood, individuals exploring their various identities including gender and sexuality identities, and survivors of trauma related to domestic violence and sexual assault. I have passion in serving the LGBTQ+ community and identify as part of the community. Trauma informed therapy is the basis for my work.
