I've been on both sides of the chair in therapy, and I think that speaks to my trust in the healing power of a therapeutic relationship.
I hold a core belief that no one wants to be “bad” or do “bad.” Keeping this in mind, I prefer to highlight strengths and focus on how we learn and grow in our challenging moments. Therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, and I don't come in knowing exactly what will work for you. My goal is to approach each session with curiosity and to collaborate with you on a unique plan that pulls from your strengths and creativity. My style is direct and action-oriented. I won't just ask, “How does that make you feel?” I'll ask, “What are we going to do about it?” I’m trans, queer and neurodivergent, and I love working with folks of shared experience.

Self compassion is vital for change. My goal is to help you master this difficult skill to help support you in loving and being your best self. With over thirteen years in the mental health field and almost a lifetime of focusing on personal growth, I have learned the hard way that no change comes without having a positive relationship with yourself. If you are willing to commit, I can help you develop that relationship with yourself and alter any unhealthy thought, behavioral, or relationship patterns that are keeping you stuck. Together we can tap into your intuition, use your strengths and cultivate skills needed for growth.

Everyone feels stressed sometimes, but what happens when it becomes too intense and takes center stage in your life? Maybe chronic and persistent worry about a stressful situation or relationship is taking control of your thoughts, or you are struggling to heal from a past trauma. Maybe you find yourself feeling physical symptoms from anxiety, like a fast heart rate, feeling nervous, difficulty sleeping, and feeling fatigued. Do you find yourself having difficulty feeling calm and at peace?

For me, the relationship between client and therapist is one of the most important aspects for success.
I love working with women and gender expansive people on concerns such as anxiety, depression, adjustment, life transitions, and trauma. I love guiding people through life transitions, shifts, and identity development. Helping my clients in their personal growth is especially fun for me. Aside from personal growth, I am most experienced working with symptoms of anxiety, depression, and trauma. I help clients understand how systems beyond their individual life impacts why they may be feeling how they are feeling. I help clients work to live authentic and genuine lives that align with their personal values.

As a PCIT therapist, I coach parents to use effective relationship and behavior management skills with their young children to reduce stress, and improve child behaviors.
While I specialize in parenting techniques for young children, I also enjoy working with children, teens, and adults who feel "stuck," or are having difficulty managing family and social conflicts. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a powerful agent of change, and aim to provide a warm, safe, and casual space for clients to express themselves. I work particularly well with teenage and young adult females. I also encourage creative outlets for processing emotional issues, which might include drawing, painting or any other evidenced-based expressive techniques that relieve distress.

Our collaborative therapeutic relationship will reflect your values, pace, and goals.
My clients are often motivated to begin therapy as an investment in self. Whether you are needing support to find your truest self, curious about how your unprocessed past may be affecting your present, living with anxiety or depression, or are looking for skills to develop healthier relationships, we will work together to determine your therapeutic path. You can expect to identify narratives that have shaped your reactions and worldview, deconstruct what no longer fits your values, and equip you with tools to thrive beyond survival.

Lately, life has felt overwhelming. You've worked really hard to get where you are, but it still feels like something is missing; sometimes it even feels like you're living someone else's life. You notice yourself falling into the same patterns, but you don't know where they came from or how to change them. Maybe you know exactly where you want to be going and wonder what is stopping you from getting there, or maybe you know that you need a change but you're not sure how to define what it is you're looking for. Either way, you don't have to figure it out alone.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
