Welcome! My name is Lindsay Carter, and I am an LPC specializing in family and individual therapy. I take a systemic, and faith-based approach to my work, and my belief is to work with clients in a collaborative way to ensure you feel heard, understood and are able to address issues at a pace that is most comfortable for you. I strive to make certain that my clients view therapy as a place that is safe, provides support, and also promotes change in a way that is nurturing, yet challenging. I have worked in the mental health field for over 20 years. In that time, I have worked with individuals of many types, including children ages 2 1/2 to 18 and adults to age 70+. The families have ranged from those with small children to those with teenagers and have been coping with a wide range of family systems problems. My experience has covered many areas, from stressors related to school/work, to those coping with mental illnesses of depression, anxiety, ADHD, ODD, OCD, bipolar depression, mild to moderate autism spectrum disorder, and many other illnesses.

Whether it is pain from the past, challenges of current circumstances, or concerns about an uncertain future, counseling can help. As a therapist, I consider it a privilege to come alongside clients who may struggle with trauma, grief, eating/body image concerns, anxiety, depression or a variety of life transitions/struggles. I work with adolescents (14 and up) and adults of all ages and have had experience in school settings, hospital-based outpatient/IOP levels of care, and private practice. While I work with many people of diverse backgrounds, I am able to offer Christian counseling if desired.

Susan Sheidy, LMFT, is the Grace Counseling Services Clinical Director and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Christian Counseling from Liberty University and also received her Master of Arts graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty.
