My name is Jaci Biere, and I am an LCSW who has been working in the mental health field for the past 9 years. I am Dr. Sylvia Kobe, and I am a Licensed Clinical psychologist. My associate Dr. Mary-Zitta Muabe and I collaborate to cover a broad counseling spectrum. After several years working in community mental health, I am practiced in working with a variety of diagnoses, symptoms, and life experiences, and am confident that together we can find your way forward.

Anxiety, stress, depression, and overwhelm can cause you to feel isolated and disconnected from yourself and what's important to you in your life. In therapy, we'll draw on your strengths, goals and desires to support you in integrating all parts of yourself so you can feel like the complete being you are.

I collaborate with adults in individual and relationship counseling. Typical issues we work on together are depression, anxiety, grief, addictions, eating disorders, LGBT concerns, ACOA issues, stress, men's issues, and if it a specific client request - spirituality concerns. I offer Wednesday, Friday and Saturday appointments by telehealth exclusively. Due to the convenience and popularity of telehealth, I hold all sessions via telehealth and no longer offer in-person office sessions.

My Doctorate is in Clinical Psychology from Alder University, Chicago. I bring to my practice the experience of a first full career in education. My area of expertise was Reading and Learning Disabilities emphasizing thought, language, the process of comprehension and meta-comprehension. This influences my therapeutic work in using the power of narrative. I collaborate with each client in an environment of respect, dignity, and compassion. I provide pathways to understanding positive changes: with experiencing personal distress; in personal growth; with interpersonal and family relationships; and, in school or career development.

Regardless of the challenges you face in life, I believe growth and healing are possible. Therapy can help you deepen your relationships and cultivate more passion, meaning and resilience. My approach, a synthesis of a range of theoretical orientations, is built on a foundation of empathy, acceptance and trust. I don't view you as a collection of symptoms, but rather as a whole, complex person with a unique life and experiences.

In my clinical practice, I focus on processing and navigating complex trauma and how it affects behavior and wellness. I also offer support to individuals who have relationship concerns, symptoms of anxiety or depression, and uncertainty about their future. Historically, I have worked with individuals who have been impacted by the legal system and can offer clinical case management and accompaniment to individuals who are dealing with criminal and civil-related legal cases.
