I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, which includes Panic, PTSD, Social Phobia, OCD and Generalized Anxiety. I also treat Trichotillomania and Excoriation (skin picking).I work with my clients to give them the tools needed to more effectively manage their symptoms and lead a more hopeful life.

Accepting new clients. As a mental health counselor, I specialize in trauma. I've worked with within the clinical settings of: mental health hospitals, school and career counseling, community care & mental health clinics and crisis intervention counseling. With much of my experience treating individuals for anxiety, depression, trauma/complex trauma, additions, stress management, grief, and Bipolar disorder. I’ve been trained in and educated in trauma informed care, multicultural care and treatment. I’m only the guide in this therapeutic journey but will be with you and support you every step of the way.

I strive to be that person for my client in their life that is capable of hearing and holding their pain. I have experience working with infants, children, adolescent, adults, couples and families. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients where together we can work collaboratively to reach their goals. Maria enjoys working with children, families, couples, trauma survivors, LGBTQ+ community, addiction and recovery.

I help you to see your symptoms as a meaningful response to concerns that you have about your life and yourself. I help you become aware of what is keeping you from living the way you want to live. I help you to get clear about what you want in the way of love, work (expressing yourself) and enjoyment of life and to use your thoughts, feelings, intentions, talents and strengths to get on a path towards satisfying those desires. I help people heal from trauma. I don't believe drugs are good treatment and will help you withdraw from them.

His theory is strongly driven by respect for each human being and their capacity to grow given the right therapeutic environment. During our sessions I strive to provide the optimal therapeutic environment for your growth, self exploration, and self acceptance.

Alonzo Ferral is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), a parent, a brother, and devoted member of the community. He has a passion to inspire hope when all hope seems lost. Using a variety of common and uncommon therapy modalities, Alonzo loves to engage with teens and children with video and board games. He is also a Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) practitioner and thrives on coaching parents through some very challenging behaviors. As a committed member of the Christian community, Alonzo can also provide Christian counseling to those who request it.

I value a strengths-based, person-centered approach to treatment and believe you have what it takes to achieve your therapy goals. Many of my clients enter into treatment with work, family, and relational issues and are surprised at the changes that are possible as they learn to manage stress and anxiety.

I have been working in Las Cruces, NM as a therapist for 25 years. My Master's degree is in Social Work, and I'm independently licensed to practice. My special interests include working with trauma survivors and serving the LGBTQ community.
