My process starts with focusing on the client as their unique selves, learning about them and what will work best for their healing. The client sets the pace of their counseling, is treated with respect, acceptance, non-judgement, and empathy (Person Centered theory). I also incorporate an integrated approach, meaning I will use interventions from other therapeutic theories. I have been a licensed mental health counselor for just over a decade (went back to college later in life). Since 2020, I've worked as a telehealth mental health counselor; finding it to be incredibly beneficial tool for therapy.
I primary help those suffering from: anxiety, depression, trauma/complex trauma, substance addiction/s, stress management, grief, and Bipolar disorder. Specializing in trauma & complex trauma. I have been trained and educated in trauma informed care, including multicultural care and treatment.
Prior to becoming a mental health counselor, I worked in many different fields, exposed and acquainted to a wide variety of life experiences, both positives and not so positive. This has allowed me to appreciate where my clients come from and what they may be going through. Everyone’s life is unique and their own. And I will always respect your story.
