I have been in practice 25 years. These days, the modalities that are my center are AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples), both are attachment & bonding based, and rely on feeling experientially & expressing primary emotion. I use EMDR (Flash technique too) and hypnosis as adjunctive therapies when needed, for example when treating trauma . I offer Life Coaching with a focus on personal fulfillment and relationships. I work for healing, and believe our wildest dreams can come true--even some we haven't dare dream yet.

I have 10 years of experience working with those struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, relationship difficulties, and various forms of trauma .
Understanding your emotions and being able to express them with a trained professional can help you overcome the challenges in your life. It is common to avoid thoughts and feelings that are distressing, and for this reason many people hesitate calling a therapist until long after they initially contemplate it. I focus on the reasons behind these avoidances in order to make life more manageable, and I do so in a safe, comfortable, and nonjudgmental space. Discussing and understanding your past experiences and relationships are important parts of gaining insight and making necessary changes.

I have received post graduate training in EMDR, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Advanced Clinical Practice in Trauma , Expressive Arts Therapy, Internal Family Systems and sound healing.
While it is natural to respond to our new reality with fear or numbness you may feel stuck in those feelings. It is possible to become unstuck from the internal suffering. Together, we will be curious about emotional and psychological patterns, anxiety, depression or relationship issues to establish new boundaries, feel empowered and affirm your own rhythm, even during these challenging times. As people do this profound work, they report a greater sense of aliveness, increased creative flow, and their relationship with themselves and others feels more meaningful.

I would like to offer my help to anyone who struggles with the current global situation. Right now many of us are struggling with increased stress and anxiety, as well as heavy emotions that might be coming up from unprocessed experiences from the past. Understanding the ways our nervous system and body handle stress and trauma can be very helpful in finding our way through the storm.

My approach is conversational while also being trauma -informed.
If you think you think too much, you are correct. You have over six thousand thoughts each day. If you hang onto your brain’s every word, then you may also feel like you feel too much. Human beings are creatures of habit. We tend to go back again and again to the coping skills that keep us going, no matter how they make us feel. Sometimes, it takes a few tries to shake up an old pattern and change how we experience our lives. That’s where therapy comes in. We can work side-by-side to identify the changes you want to make in your life, create a plan, and use research-supported methods to follow through.

Through a trauma -informed approach to treatment, and with gentle and empathic support, curiosity, and an open mind, I offer you a safe space where we will collaborate on drawing out your inherent strengths.
Many of us can identify with feeling stuck inside negative thought patterns that leave us inhibited by self doubt, fear and anxiety. Unfortunately we live in a society that can often feel unsupportive, leading us to feel isolated and alone with our feelings. Past hurts can create a sense of shame and self blame that hold us back from achieving our goals. We find ourselves repeating behaviors we’d like to change, but don’t know where to begin or how to do that. The idea of actual change can feel overwhelming or even impossible, but it's not. We do not choose our feelings, but we can choose how we address them.

Together, we will untangle the knots created by anxiety, trauma , family and relationship problems that leave you feeling disconnected from yourself, your body, and your emotions.
You've come a long way, baby. You're doing it. You're killing it at work or at school. You always have. But somehow, those old ways of thinking and feeling about yourself have followed. At work, and with your friends, it looks like you have it all together. If anything, you're the first to lend a hand to others, even when you are completely running on empty. But something is missing, and its gnawing at you. You don't know what you want or need most of the time. We can figure that out together.

Together we work to create a calm, safe, non-judgmental atmosphere that allows you the freedom to express yourself. It's not always easy to speak about problems or painful pasts or, at times, current situations, but careful empathetic listening and gentle inquiry make it possible to begin to explore feelings and behaviors and eventually to gain insights that facilitate changes. I have worked successfully with a diversity of individuals with a range of concerns and issues, including interpersonal difficulties, depression, anxiety, and relationship/family issues, and trauma .

My approach is trauma -informed and culturally sensitive, with an emphasis on examining your past and how it might have informed your current behaviors and belief systems.
Worries and intrusive thoughts may be hard to turn off. Hopelessness, shame, and low self-worth might be dimming your light (in your personal relationships or at work). Relationship issues, early traumatic experiences, or communication struggles may be keeping you from thriving. But there is a way. There always is. And I can help you find it. I’ll guide you to explore your life experiences and develop solutions for your unique challenges. You’ll gain insight and tools to greet yourself with compassion, challenge limiting patterns, manage your symptoms, and improve your relationship with yourself and others.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for trauma?

Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?

Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?

Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?

It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
