My primary focus of treatment is trauma recovery, depression, and anxiety.
My training includes working with issues surrounding depression, anxiety, trauma, impulse control, and various life adjustments. Insight alone is not sufficient to generate change. Lasting change comes from addressing core beliefs which originate in childhood, which are buried under the muck - the stuff of life that has accumulated over the years.

I am trained in contemporary psychodynamic and humanistic psychotherapy as well as attachment theory and trauma-informed care with a social justice lens.
The curious paradox is when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change. What I am is enough if I would only be it openly.' C.Rogers. This quote is at the core of my work as a psychotherapist. I believe that the path to healing begins with the experience of being truly seen and celebrated with all your identities and parts that make the whole of you. I offer an affirming and collaborative space for the exploration of Self, connecting to your Divine within through mind-body-spirit practices so that you can move beyond the unloving narratives getting in the way of embodying your true Self and curating the life that you envision.

I have helped people with anxiety, depression, PTSD and other mood disorders, as well as parenting and relationship issues.
LET'S TALK. Ever since psychotherapy (the talking cure) was conceived over 100 years ago it has grown and evolved. But one thing remains constant: talking with someone about the things that bother you, in a safe and empathic environment is curative. It is the first step to changing the way you think, feel and act. In more than 20 years of practice, I have studied and mastered various techniques of psychotherapy (cognitive behavioral, relational, psychodynamic) and will utilize these in our work together.

I've been practicing for 16 years and bring you clinical expertise in trauma work, with a specialization in domestic and sexual violence, though these are not the only issues that I work with.
Helping women heal from traumatic experiences and advance their personal growth has been the focus on my career as a therapist. So often, sexual abuse and/or assault is interwoven into the female experience, yet still not always believed or understood by others. Having a history of gender-based violence can have a tremendous effect on our lives, consciously and unconsciously, impacting current relationships, our sense-of-self, and the way we connect with others. While the past will always play a role in shaping our future, it doesn't get to define it. Together, we can make the future stronger than the past.

Moreover, under duress, many individuals experience a loss of identity, family and relationship difficulties, and the awakening of hidden traumas.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and strengths-based, aimed at helping clients overcome obstacles and realize their full potential through a tailored approach. Rejecting a one-size-fits-all solution, I embrace a humanistic, integrative, and person-centered framework that respects each person's unique path to inner harmony.

Therapy can be a space to slow down and reconnect with yourself, especially the parts of you that may have been silenced, criticized, or pushed aside in order to get by. I approach therapy with deep care and genuine curiosity, offering a supportive and nonjudgmental space to explore your experiences, emotions, and inner world. Together, we’ll work toward creating room for healing, self-understanding, and meaningful change, so you can show up more fully and authentically in your life. I hold Level 3 training in the Gottman Method and advanced certification in Trauma-Informed Practice and in Assessment & Diagnosis from NYU.
Does this sound familiar? You start talking about something small, like weekend plans or a chore, and somehow it spirals into that same old fight. Before you know it, you're both frustrated, nobody feels heard, and you're wondering how you got here... again. That distance between you keeps growing, and despite loving each other, you can't seem to break the cycle. Whether you're a couple preparing for marriage, navigating midlife challenges, or entering retirement, or an individual seeking clarity during life transitions, you want to move beyond feeling stuck. You're looking for practical tools to create meaningful change.

We all feel stuck from time to time. Life transitions or past wounds can make living in the moment difficult. I seek to help clients heal the hurt they feel so they can experience the joys that life has to offer!

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
