I take a holistic approach to healing, focusing on Psychotherapy, Art Therapy and customized nutritional choices. In my 17 years of experience working with different types of children, couples and individuals diagnosed with mental illnesses, and severe trauma or just needing to speak about what they go through in their daily life, I realized that holistic treatments are often ignored. I believe that every part of us is connected and how we think, what we eat, our habits, patterns, family history all play a role in our mental health.

Feeling sad, lost, anxious, burnt out? Trying to find meaning and purpose in life? It's okay if you are feeling this way and you are not alone. Many of us are searching for our "new normal" in a world that can feel out of control and I applaud you for taking this first step toward better mental health in 2025! Emotions are what makes us singular and unique as people but they can also cause us immense heartache and pain. Therapy is not just about exploring and sharing emotional states, but also about building a relationship with someone who can help navigate past patterns and explore new ways of interpreting these feelings.

Do you feel lost and alone? Do things that used to give you pleasure only add to your anxiety and sadness?  Do others not understand what you are trying to say? Do you mask your feelings in order to cope, and sometimes even detach from them altogether, when on the inside you feel frustrated, depressed, and even angry?  Are you sick and tired of feeling this way? Together, you and I will figure out what’s really going on. With me, you will be seen, heard, and believed. There is a reason for all these emotions. It’s going to be okay.  There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Let’s change the pain into peace once and for all.

Psychotherapy provides the support and structure to facilitate your ability to make positive changes. I work with relationship issues, anxiety, depression, transitions throughout the life span, parenting concerns, stress at work, school or home. I have an interactive style and I evaluate the needs of each client in order to determine the type of approach that would be most useful. With an eclectic approach the work we do may, for example, include psycho-dynamic and insight oriented work, a problem solving focus, behavior modification or stress management. I may suggest "homework" at times such as a relaxation exercise or a relevant reading.

At one time or another, any one of us may feel overwhelmed, anxious or depressed. We may feel we are alone in our suffering or going through something no one else can understand. We may turn to drugs, alcohol or reckless behaviors. Our relationships suffer, our identity and self-worth collapse, and the vision we have for a happy, fulfilled future seems impossible to achieve. For many, therapy provides the guidance, skills, support and insight to unravel the source of suffering and change limiting thoughts, beliefs and behaviors into healthy, adaptive ones.

Are you a parent/caregiver looking for someone to help your child, or are you a young adult looking for someone to talk to? Youths have unique challenges to face: school stressors, difficulty socializing with peers, struggles in identifying complex feelings, having a hard time focusing, and the list goes on. You may have noticed that your (or your child’s) struggles have worsened throughout COVID-19 for a variety of reasons, which is certainly not uncommon. If you feel anxious, sad, lonely, scattered, or overwhelmed, you are in the right place. You don’t have to go it alone. Whether you’re 5 or 25, my goal is to help you feel heard.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
