As of January 23, 2023, I am only taking a limited number of tele behavioral health clients, cash pay only. I have taken the position as Clinical Director for the Center for Individual, Couple and Family Counseling in the Department of Couple and Family Therapy at UNLV’s Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. I am excited for this new role, and the opportunity to teach, supervise and continue to mentor new therapists in our field. *Telehealth appointments available* I am a licensed psychologist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy. My areas of focus include eating disorders, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, relational issues and addictions. I have experience working with young adults, couples and families. I use a variety of modalities in my work, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy, RO-DBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I work closely with you to determine the appropriate treatment modality and to deliver effective and supportive treatment. Please note that I only see clients aged 18 and above

I believe individuals come to therapy with concerns that have become problematic to their lives. However we were raised, along the way, we picked up traits that grew along with us, and manifested themselves in our everyday living; traits, such as abandonment, mistrust, defectiveness, vulnerable to harm/illness, entitlement, unrelenting standards/hypercritical, and dependence. I believe these traits hide in plain sight. Individuals will come to therapy looking to relieve themselves of moments, or situations, only to find these traits, disguised as their concerns. It is up to our work together to find a way to overcome these traits.

Hello, this is my private practice's page. I am accepting new clients in person or through telehealth. I am a licensed CPC Intern, CI5287, graduated from UNLV's CACREP-accredited master program. My areas of expertise are working with any mental distress related symptoms and assisting clients in achieving self-leadership and self-compassion. I would like to provide clients the utmost compassion and unconditional positive regard. I believe my clients are probably already trying their best, and they might just need a map to navigate the areas of themselves that are struggling. My approach is emotion-based and trauma-focused.

I strive to help individuals to not only overcome these challanges, yet to be able to find new pathways of thinking that they can use throughout their life. Using techniques derived from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution focused therapy, I work with clients and tailor my treatment to each clients individual needs. We all experience problems in our lives. Some problems are situational and easily resolved and others can be more serious and difficult to handle. YCB will help those experiencing a situational problem, an immediate crisis, or have a longstanding mental health concern. YCB provides individualized service to children and adults, enabling them to recognize their strengths and teach them proactive life strategies to overcome daily challenges. YCB utilizes an evidence-based treatment approach and therapeutic practice interventions. The services can be in person or through Telehealth in the rural areas of Nevada.

Dr. Scott is committed to facilitating the healing, recovery and integration of motivated, proactive clients who are interested in approaching their behavioral health from an eclectic and multi-disciplinary approach. He uses many traditional and non-traditional techniques that are described below. His commitment is to start where the client is and assist them in the process of self-discovery, mastery and holistic wellness. Sessions are from 50 minutes to 5 hours and treatment plans are specifically customized to each individual and family. Typical treatment duration lasts from a few sessions to several years.

I've been working with clients since 1997. I have a strong desire to help and assist others. I love meeting with people and helping them generate solutions to their specific life issues. I use a client centered, strength based approach. I strive to have an effective and positive practice.

My ideal client will have a desire for change, and may have anxiety and or depression, or may be suffering from PTSD. My ideal client may have been through a substance abuse treatment program and has been unable to maintain long term recovery. My ideal client may have legal or welfare issues that will not be resolved unless they seek an evaluation or substance abuse counseling. My client maybe skeptical about recovering but is willing to look at themselves and try therapy. My clients are usually adults, but I do work with children and teens.

Treatment will attempt to help your family process those struggles and move through them so you will be able to handle things that arise in the future. Combining compassion and common sense with formal training and experience is the most effective way to help patients deal with challenges they are facing. Therapy should help change come about in the very first session. Of course, problems are not solved immediately, but every meeting should bring new possibilities and hope for change that will last.
