I am honored and grateful that our paths have crossed, and I share your belief in the innate ability of individuals to grow and heal. Recognizing the importance of allowing oneself to feel and process emotions is crucial to healing. Life's challenges can sometimes overshadow our inherent capacity for healing and wholeness, but it is essential to remember that they are always within reach. My primary goal as your therapist is to provide unwavering support as you strive to become the best version of yourself. Together, we will embark on a transformative journey of healing and self-discovery.

Are you or your child struggling with learning, anxiety, depression, and attention deficit and you need assessment right away? Or perhaps your child is too gifted and talented and not working to its potential with another failing report card on its way and it is clear that your child needs help. It leaves you completely overwhelmed, feeling like you are the only person trying to do anything about it as the school is letting it all happen. You see several struggles in reading, writing, organization, forgetting things learned, making the same mistakes over and over again? Do you wonder if your child needs IEP or gifted education?

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional (CIMHP). I provide an environment that treats the whole person, getting to the root causes rather than treating just the symptoms and ignoring underlying causes of mental health issues. My philosophy about mental and emotional health is that it is a key component in our overall health and wellness.

People in your life might think everything is fine, but inside you feel overwhelmed and stuck. Your anxiety is ramped up trying to control something that you cannot control. You find yourself not trusting yourself and seeking external validation frequently. Feelings of distraction are constant and worries take over your thoughts. You may even feel that your relationships have changed and that you need to protect the ones you love by hiding how you truly feel. Trying to stay "positive" just isn't working. If you are ready for change, you have come to the right place. I am not a smile and nod therapist and will partner with you.

I utilize hypnosis, neuro-linguistic programming, brainspotting, Parts and Memory Therapy, person-centered therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral therapy in my practice.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.
Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.
Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.
What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
