I liken my therapeutic approach to the Japanese artform of Kintsugi in which broken pieces of pottery are mended together by precious metals, creating an equally or even more beautiful creation than it was in its original state. As a philosophy, if an object has been damaged then it has more of a history and should, therefore, be celebrated and highlighted, rather than hidden or discarded. Just as the broken sections are embraced in Kintsugi I believe that the broken, flawed, imperfect pieces of our life can come together with the good experiences, to form an even more amazing and beautiful life.

For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a mental health therapist. I have always been drawn to learning more about people and their unique stories. I enjoy exploring what brings us to think, feel, and act the way we do and identifying ways to shift patterns that may be creating challenges for us in our day to day lives and relationships. My therapeutic style is direct, while also supportive and compassionate. I embrace the principle that the treatment relationship is a genuine relationship between equals. I consider it a privilege for people to share their stories with me and allow me to walk alongside them on their journey.

If life feels hard right now, I promise it will not feel this way forever. You deserve to find and believe in your greatness. My mission is to empower couples and individuals to re-author their narratives in order to find healing. Your path of purpose deserves your belief. Sometimes we just need someone to walk along side of us through the hardships to believe we can make it. I utilize my skills to empower others to find power in their stories. My approach can help you move past the false narratives you tell yourself that keep you stuck, and allow yourself to find healing and purpose. You will learn to own your greatness.

We all face difficult challenges or situations that affect our way of life, who we are, and our social/family environments resulting in hurt, pain, depression, anxiety, feeling of grief/loss, and need to be validated and accepted. No one should go through these challenges alone as I meet you where you are in life's travels and assist you in navigating these difficulties with my years of experience and education. My practice includes individuals (children, adolescents, and adults), couples, and families. If you are looking for a supportive, non-judgmental counselor, give me a call.

Every human does better when we feel connected to others and to ourselves. Put simply, connection is the compilation of three basic elements: knowing we are seen, heard, and that we matter. I was introduced to this concept when watching an interview with Maya Angelou, just before I began my graduate program to become a therapist. Since that time, I have heard many others share the same message… Oprah, Brene Brown, Johann Hari, and countless others that have studied, researched, and understand the tie that binds us all. When we feel better, we do better, right?
