Grounded, compassionate therapy for anxiety, relationships, and family of origin healing in person or virtually.
If you feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, or like you’ve been carrying too much for too long, you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, self-aware adults who feel stuck in cycles of overthinking, people-pleasing, emotional burnout, or relationship stress. They often grew up having to be strong, responsible, or emotionally attuned to others and now find it hard to slow down, feel grounded, or fully rest in themselves.

Being lost, frustrated, overwhelmed, and exhausted can be a normal part of life; however, sometimes it becomes too much and too heavy for one person to carry alone. I am so glad that you are here. The reality is, you do not have to carry it alone and you shouldn't have to. Let's face live's difficult challenges together. Whether you are managing symptoms of grief and loss, experiencing issues faced by the LGBTQ+ community, or managing symptoms of anxiety and depression- I am here and I am passionate about supporting you through the issues that you are facing.

The most influential piece of healing is connection and sometimes you don't need a cure, you need a witness. A witness who validates your current and past struggles while helping you grow through the discomfort. A witness that does not try to "fix you" but gives you the tools to grow. A connection with a therapist could be the missing piece of your healing journey. I have experience working with a variety of people from those who have survived trauma to those who need support with daily life stressors.

In-person therapy is offered on Tuesdays and alternate Thursday afternoons.
The work of counseling is soul work, to help you discover and become aware of your own principles of life, your thoughts and feelings, your strengths and growing edges. Let's help you understand your actions and behaviors. My goal for you is a compassionate journey as we unpack the emotional messages you have received throughout your life and examine ways to accommodate or reframe them, to seek freedom. I work with individuals, and some couples to explore ways to encourage options. Counseling is available for short-term and long-term needs.

Are you struggling to navigate through life transitions or relational stressors? Are you a parent of a teen dealing with issues such as self esteem, body shaming, social anxiety and peer pressure? Are you a young adult challenged with self confidence in decision making and experiencing relationship concerns? Growing up is hard for most of us. In each phase of life, there are new responsibilities and trials to overcome, and because we’ve never done them before it can feel like defeat. You may be struggling with becoming older and the aspects that come with it and wondering how you can overcome these trials.

I offer therapy sessions both virtually and in-person.
My ideal clients are people who've spent most of their lives feeling like they don't quite fit. That might be someone who is neurodivergent and just figuring that out, a young adult finding their footing, or someone who has brushed their own needs aside for so long they're not sure what those needs are anymore. I came to counseling through education, and I brought with me the belief that people grow best when they feel safe enough to be honest. We talk about real things, make real plans, and move at a pace that makes sense for your life.

I'm flexible about alternating in-person & virtual sessions as needed.
Healing often begins with a single, courageous step — and here you are. Before becoming a therapist, I spent years helping young people find their voice as a teacher. Now, I walk alongside teens and adults who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, stuck in grief, or uncertain about their place in the world. Together we work to develop the skills and understanding they need to build the life and relationships they want. Whether you’re a young adult struggling with anxiety and academic stress or an older adult navigating life transitions and unhealed wounds, I offer warm, collaborative therapy to help you reach your goals.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
