I strive to create an environment for each client that is as liberating as it is welcoming to inspire a growth mindset. Our sessions have a person-centered foundation and incorporate approaches such as CBT, Somatic, ACT, Existential, Narrative, Brainspotting, and yoga-based therapies as needed. I find that the methods listed help foster a growth mindset and allow clients to reflect on their experiences and explore their goals and values at a pace that suits them. Sessions, treatment planning, and goals are the result of our partnership, and it's important that you always feel comfortable in the design of your care.

Once this foundation is established, we will explore therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness Movement, Polyvagal Theory, and attachment-based exploration.
Hi all and congratulations on taking the courageous step toward healing. I am a dedicated trauma therapist with a specialized focus on attachment wounds, complex relational trauma, and processing family dynamics across the lifespan. My person-centered approach allows us to delve into deep-seated patterns that often underpin trauma responses and impact self-worth and the ability to maintain healthy relationships. I believe that trauma and life stressors affect both the brain and body. For deep healing to occur, we must first connect with ourselves, develop positive coping skills, and attune to our nervous system.

I provide therapy by utilizing CBT, SFBT, ACT, Narrative therapy, and client centered approaches.
I specialize in helping clients learn to take control of their anxiety and lives by examining the impact of internal pressure (like unhealthy self-talk) and external triggers (like toxic relationships) and replacing what doesn't work with strategies to feel more empowered. I firmly believe that the way that we speak to ourselves impacts how we handle the pressures we face and let's be honest, we are often our own harshest critics. That is why I use a strengths-based approach to treatment to help clients get rid of hurtful self-talk and learn to embrace their own power!

You know you have so much potential, but may not know exactly how to reach it. I hope to join you on your journey by providing you with an emotionally safe space where you are able to authentically express yourself as well as feel supported and not judged.

Life is complicated. Often the difficulties and stress we face create conflict and struggles that need to be shared with others. Through counseling, I believe that clients can find relief from the stress and pain of broken relationships, addiction, past traumas and unidentified emotional and spiritual wounds. I primarily work with adults experiencing anxiety or depression. I also work with people experiencing grief or who have been in abusive relationships. I work collaboratively with clients to help them find peace and rest in the midst of daily life.

You know the visceral pain of loss. You get how grief makes itself known through abrupt tears, sleepless nights, literal pain, and a plethora of emotions because you’ve lived it. You know what it’s like for life as you’ve known it to change in irreversible ways. Maybe you're in the thick of struggling to cope, trying to make sense of what’s happened and where you go from here, or you’re ready to heal a grief unobserved that’s been with you for some time. Perhaps you’ve lost someone to suicide, an often uniquely isolating loss. You might be grieving a breakup, familial estrangement or change in identity. These bring grief, too.

Does it sometimes feel like your partner doesn't understand you? Have you experienced an affair or some other kind of infidelity? Connecting to our partner begins with understanding our own wants and desires and learning to communicate with one another in the most effective way possible. Relationships can give us a lot of comfort, but to be their best, they require hard work - and some guidance every now and then.

Tired of scanning therapist profiles? Almost feels like a bad dating app experience? I'll cut to the chase; some of my favorites to work with are: people-pleasers/stressed and anxious "high performers"/those wondering why they keep dating jerks/religious deconstruction.

Narrative Therapists

Is narrative therapy evidence-based?

Narrative therapy is not well-studied, and it may not be as effective in treating mental health conditions when compared with evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy. Some small studies do show that depressed and anxious individuals who were treated with narrative therapy reported improvement in anxiety and depression symptoms.

How long does narrative therapy last?

Narrative therapy is less structured when compared with psychoanalysis, for example. Narrative therapy is more open-ended and may not be limited to a set number of sessions. It is common for clients to be in therapy for a few months, and sometimes a year or longer. Patients see their therapist one to two times a week, though the exact schedule and timeline may vary depending on a person’s challenges and progress. Individuals can also practice the principles of narrative therapy after treatment has ended.

Does narrative therapy work?

Narrative therapy can help a person manage or reduce symptoms of conditions like depression or anxiety. This type of therapy encourages a person to reflect on the moments of their life when their particular problem was not at the forefront of their minds—perhaps life celebrations, achievements, and other successes. The individual is encouraged to rewrite their storyline as if their particular problem was not part of their life. This therapy may offer benefits that are hard to measure.

What are the possible limitations of narrative therapy?

Narrative therapy is person-centered or client-centered, and the health professional pays more attention to the subjective narratives that are constructed by the client, as opposed to other objective measures. The therapist privileges the individual’s perspective over all others. This open form may feel frustrating for individuals seeking a more structured approach; certainly, no one therapy type will work for every individual.
