I have been licensed in the state of Delaware since 2009 and have been practicing in the outpatient setting since 2010. Prior to that I worked as a therapist in a residential treatment facility, as a mobile therapist providing wrap around services and as a counselor in a drug and alcohol facility.

As a biology major and a candidate for a Ph.D. in neuroscience I became interested in helping people with emotional, cognitive, or behavioral problems. In 1974 I studied at the Institute for Rational Emotive Therapy in New York City and was trained by Dr. Albert Ellis, PhD. I love working with children, adolescents, and adults using cognitive behavioral therapy to help people live more satisfying lives. I had also started the first partial hospital program in Delaware and worked ten years running an inpatient program. I work in a private practice and work closely with schools agencies and employers to ensure continuity of care.

My orientation to treatment is client centered meaning you, the client will guide and make decisions about your therapy experience. Success in treatment is determined by you and how supported you feel by me as your advocate and companion on the journey to recovery. Because my approach is person centered, I will help you work through whatever barriers to success may be your challenge. We work as a team. I completed all of my formal education from The Pennsylvania State University (Penn State), included a bachelors degree in Bio-Behavioral Health, a masters degree in Counselor Education/Psychiatric Rehabilitation, and a doctoral degree in Adult Education.

I am a master’s level mental health professional. I earned my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. As a person-centered clinician, my goal is to develop a strong therapeutic relationship in order to help my clients identify their strengths and create attainable goals.
