Vivian Sockol is a Licensed Psychologist (LP) with over 30 years of experience providing support for children, teens, adults couples, and families.Vivian completed her undergraduate degree in Special Education and Elementary Education at the State University of New York in Geneseo and received her Master’s degree and Doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology at Boston University. She completed her dissertation regarding student-athlete stress, researching how to improve this area within academic systems.

I really enjoy working with couples and maintain a strong focus on developing healthy communication skills, increasing understanding, and building intimacy and trust. I offer judgment free, empathy and understanding and a safe space for addressing any issue or topic. Dr. Stevens completed his internship in Clinical Psychology at the University of Rochester Counseling Center in 2010, where he worked with college students using relational based models of therapy, and rotated at the Psychiatric Emergency Department. Dr. Stevens then completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in 2011 at the W.G. Hefner Veterans Affairs Medical Center, in Medical Informatics. Dr. Stevens' clinical work consisted of neuropsychological evaluations, along with individual and group psychotherapy with veterans. At the Salisbury VAMC Dr. Stevens completed research involving the anterior cingulate cortex, a unique region of the brain located between the prefrontal cortex and limbic system brain areas.

I try to welcome my clients in to my practice by providing a safe, supportive warm, quiet and non-judgmental space. I enjoy working with Individuals, Couples, and Families aged 10 and older. I have treated people with mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, Substance and Alcohol Abuse, Grief, Divorce and other major life stressors. I believe that it is important to look at both the difficulties in life and what works in your life.

My approach with clients recognizes that most people are looking for tangible help, don't have a lot of time between work and family, and want to feel like they are moving toward a better understanding of solutions to address their difficulties. My work with clients acknowledges these issues.
